Best work boots? Opinions needed!

I want to buy some work boots or shoes for my boyfriend. Everytime he buys shoes, he gets a hole in them on the soles near the ball of his foot. He works 12 hour days and delivers bread, so part of the time he's driving, part of the time he's moving bread around.
Suggestions?

My husband and my dad really like Red Wings. They aren't cheap, but they are comfortable and hold up very well.

We own an engineering company and do allot of outside work.....we buy LLBEAN boots as well as TIMBERLANDS!!

around here people wear "ropers" the real classic work boots, not the fancy ones.
