Best week in September?

Hello, I am in the process of planning vacation for September 2023. I'm aware that Sept will still be a lower crowd month however from reading on this board in the past few months, different weeks in Sept have seen much different crowd levels since Covid. I am considering starting my trip either

Tues Sept 5 (day after Labor Day)
Monday Sept 11 (the week after Labor day)

From what I'm reading in the discussions from September 2022 got progressively more crowded as month went on, however some of the Crowd calendars for 2023 have the second week (Sept. 11) as having the lowest crowds. I know no one is a future teller, but any suggestions/ideas would be great. Thanks?

Weeks of Long weekends are common for those w/out school age kids to vacation - so labor day week is going to be a bit more crowded relative to the week following.

We have been there both weeks several times. Really, the difference in crowds in those 2 weeks is negligible. The first 2 weeks are both less crowded than the end of September. Weekends @ Epcot will be busier than weekdays because of F & W. There will be Halloween parties @ MK. Labor Day isn’t quite as big a draw as other holidays, but It will be a 3 day weekend for lots of people. However, Rosh Hashanah is the 15 -17th, so some schools will have a long weekend then too.

There are no weeks of really empty parks anymore. And Disney adjusts staffing so rides usually always have some wait. I would suggest you check hotels & airfare if flying & book which ever week works better for those. The crowds really won’t be different enough to have any real impact.

Agree with @focusondisney - mid-Sept has been good for us. However, my favorite/best trip was the last week for my 40th birthday. But, that may have been more of why than the crowds :)

I agree. While children have all returned to school after Labor Day, with the general volume of people now going to Disney, there is no one time to go when it won't be crowded. Locals with AP's probably go a lot on weekends when there is good weather.

Both of those weeks tend to have lower crowds compared to some other week. I personally don’t feel there will be a noticeable difference in crowds between those 2 weeks if you arriving in the Tues or Monday.

Historical crowd level records show a very slight advantage in the days immediately following Labor Day, but as others have stated, the difference is pretty small. It should be as dead as it will get.

Any week in Sept that doesn't include a Hurricane. We survived Hurricane Ian last year at BWV. WDW did a great job of taking care of the guests and getting a food buffet set-up in the convention center. All in all we had a good time even with Ian joining us. We did add on an extra night to get in some park time, so it all worked out. Being in a 1 BR with lots of food helped also.

We are now doing Sept every year in a 1 BR at BWV for 5 nights as it gets the DW her 1 BR fix at an awesome DVC point rate.

We try to avoid the weeks around Labor Day as for us it tends to be more crowded and is still hot hot hot, that's not to say the end of Sept can't be hot also. Hence we also do a WP during our Sept (and May) trips. So for us we roll the dice and go for the last two weeks of the month.

Either way, book what you can get and enjoy.
