Best ways to cool off?

Another vote for Ice Station Cool if you're in Epcot. Also, I love the play fountains that come up from the ground just before you enter the World Showcase. I'm not above running through them with the kids just to cool off. Animal Kingdom has some nice misters as well. Anyone know where they are in MGM or MK?

Just as you exit Test Track at Epcot, there is a drink stand that looks like a car wash. They have large slushies in raspberry/lemonade or blueberry for $2.50. It works like magic to lower the body temp for the long hot walk to WS.

If you don't need or want to return to your resort in the afternoon, we find that it helps to do a little resort hopping. For example, we like to visit CR and get cold drinks and play for a while in the arcade. Or if you remain in the parks, see indoor shows or movies that allow some relaxation time in the air conditioning. It's also a nice time to browse through the shops at Downtown Disney.

We're also going in August (11-16) and I appreciate all of these suggestions as well...

I think it's a great idea to head back to the hotel to relax a bit in the afternoon, but I was wondering, how late do the parks typically stay open during that time of year?

The thought of playing at MK late into the night sounds like fun to me...the parks after dark are such a treat!!

My kids do not like to leave the park once they get there, they are fanatical about the rides. They even get upset when it is closing time and we are getting kicked out. We all where caps and like to get them wet and where them wet with cold water. Going through the AC stores does help a little. Just drink lots of water and enjoy yourself, do not fret about the weather.

Since we don't like lugging around misters, last summer we got some very small battery fans for about $2 at Target that fit in the palm of your hand, and carried them in our pocket or hooked on to a pants loop.
