My husband has a conference in October at the Hyatt Grand Cypress right by DW. His days will end around 4-5pm. I expect my son and I not to enter the parks until about 10am. Any suggestions on a way to maximize our trip and not be away from my husband after he is done every day at 5? Struggling to pay these full day prices for us not all being able to be there full days. Any tips/help is greatly appreciated :)

Years ago, I thought Disney offered a reduce-price late admission ticket, like after 16:00? Did they discontinue this? You might consider asking about it for your husband. I almost went to a conference in Orlando this past July but instead hosted friends from out of the country, otherwise I would've been looking into this exact ticket.

Disney does not offer that to the general public. I think Conferences get access to those tickets once in a while but if OP is paying full price for tickets it sounds like their convention isn’t offering this.

OP- you and your kid get full use of your tickets, your husband gets a bit under half use. Pay it, that’s the opportunity cost of combining vacation with work. If you keep yourselves out of the parks to hang with DH then you’ve got 2 tickets wasting park hours instead of 1.

We haven't heard anything of them offering, have you seen offsite conventions offer it?

from what I can tell that ended awhile ago or it would've been perfect

Yes, I worked for an offsite company until 2021 that organized conventions/groups and we had access to an after 2pm and an after 4pm ticket for attendees. Your husband should at least ask whoever is organizing the convention if these tickets are available for their group. Some convention organizers choose not to make them available, and unfortunately you can’t buy them unless your convention has made those arrangements in advance.

That so good to know, everything I saw said conferences on site so I assumed there wasnt an option off site. We will contact the people running it and see if they offer it. Fingers crossed! We just found out about it and I of course went full force vacation planning mode and didnt think to ask them directly .

also ask if they have discounted tickets (full day) for convention attendees or their guests. They have a different use by date. The ones with onsite conferences, the tickets are good for 7 days before the first day of the conference, the days of the conference, and possibly 7 days after the conference ends…

yes, this event (July 2023) says:

Tickets are valid 7 days before, during, and 7 days after the meeting dates. Please note, the cut-off date for advance purchase savings is July 15th, 2023.

To maximize your husband’s time in the parks, I would look at buying Genie+ and ILL$. You can stack Genie+LLs for the times he’ll be there, so you can ride together, and you can buy ILL$ for times he’ll be there, too.

Good idea. We have never had a chance to use Genie+ before.
