Best way to get to HDD?

What is the best mode of transportation to HDD? We will be staying at BC and we have a car. Should we drive or would we be better taking Disney transportation.

We take Disney transportation from YC/BC to and from HDDR because we partake of the unlimited wine and sangria. No driving after that!

From BC, we would take bus to MK, and then boat to Fort Wilderness. We always go to the 9:30 show, and Disney uses special bus routes to take everyone back to their resorts...for earlier shows, I think it depends when the parks close on whether they bus you back. Anyone know for the two earlier shows?

If you drive, I believe you have to take an internal FW bus to the Pioneer Hall area.

Not a big drinker, so we drive:
Head up to the magic kingdom/TTC parking gates, staying right. Tell the parking attendant that you are going to Fort Wilderness and they should wave you through. Stay right on the first split off and turn right. Drive to the Fort Wilderness entrance and go past the resort guest entry to the visitors parking lot (2nd left). Park and walk to the bus stop. Take any of the three colored routes to Pioneer Hall. (Each color, yellow, purple and orange, go between the parking and Pioneer, via a different route through the campground.)

You can also catch a boat from MK if you are there for your park day and then back to get your car where you left it !!! We love the boats!

We are not big drinkers, so that will not be an issue. And, we are going to the 7:15 show. I lilke the idea of taking the boat over to FW rather that the bus but not to fond of parking at MK to get the boat.

Is there a boat from the CR? Would we be able to park at CR and then take the boat over to FW?

You won't be able to park at the Contemporary. If you want the MK, you'd either drive to the TTC or take the bus directly to the park. The bus is better because the ferry to Fort Wilderness is really close to the bus depot. I'd rather take the bus if I was going that route.

If you want the car, just drive to Fort Wilderness and take the first internal bus you see. As someone else said, any of the bus colors will end up at Pioneer Hall.
