best way to get morning coffee on the dream

Right now I have two rooms booked forward for myself and my parents. Is there anywhere to get coffee in the morning on the forward part of the ship or would they have to walk all the way aft to cabanas? Wondering if aft is a better choice for convenience. Or maybe just have the order coffee from room service... do you need to pre order the night before or can you call when you wake up?

You can pre-order it or call when you wake up from room service. If you preorder, you fill out a form and hang it on your door with a requested delivery time but I've always had it delivered within 15 min of calling. Tip them a few bucks and you've got hot fresh coffee in your room w/o walking.
On the last night order it as late as possible for the next day. It will stay hot until morning. We do it every cruise.

We always ordered it the night before when we were just settling down. It was always warm/hot in the morning when we'd see it at our door waiting for us. It was great.

We ordered coffee from room service every morning upon waking... never waited more than 10-15 minutes.

We also fill out the "Good Morning" door hanger form (found in the desk drawers) I believe it has to be on your door handle by 3am. The coffee along with whatever else you order usually comes right on time for us, even a few minutes early. If you think you want it delivered say at 8:30, I would probably choose a time of 8:30-9 instead of 8-8:30... Many times my DH would open the door for the room service in his boxers at 7:55 because we were still in bed when they knocked :crazy2:

This is awesome and kind of what I was hoping. At the disney resorts I have waited 45 minutes for breakfast and up to 90 minutes for dinner so was hoping that you could call upon waking and have some coffee in a reasonable amount of time.

Do you mean they would just leave it outside your door?

I was more thinking for my parents and I'm not sure they would want to plan to be up at a certain time (whereas my son is up pretty early and we'd want to hit the ground running).

Just trying to know what to expect, my dad is not real "go with the flow" lol. Though they have cruised more recently than I have but not on Disney. If they can call upon waking and have it within 15 minutes or so that would be great.

I didn't know it would only be 10-15 min from the time you order to get the coffee or maybe we would have tried doing that... although we also ordered some cereal and juice for DS and... we kind of treated the morning room service delivery as our wake-up call ;)
Since they usually came a little early, the smell of coffee in our stateroom would entice me to get out of bed ;)
But at least now I know I can just order it in the morning if I forget to fill out the door hanger. Which has happened before, I remember getting out of bed at 2 am and rummaging through the drawers looking for a pen ;)

My husband likes his coffee almost immediately upon waking. He always orders a carafe of coffee at about 10:30/11:00pm, it is delivered then and it stays pretty hot in the carafe overnight sitting on the "coffee" table in the room. That way he has his coffee when he wants it.

Another option, although it would have an expense, is Cove Cafe, which is on Deck 11 Forward and opens around 7:30.

that's where we head, the cove cafe....i need my espresso fix... :)

by the way, does room service have espresso, or just regular american drip coffee?

My parents are regular coffee drinkers, but I think I might budget for some fancy coffee drinks. it's only 4 nights but really 3 leisurely ones. I THINK I can spare $15 for some nice coffee.

The door hanger has 30 minute blocks of time to choose from and it is delivered in a carafe so it stays warm. We almost always do it this way so we can have a little coffee before we head to breakfast.

Just regular as far as I know. If you're an espresso person, I'd stick with Cove Cafe. They pull actual espresso shots and use Illy beans (which I find quite decent). If you order espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc. from the dining rooms or elsewhere it comes out of a machine (like a push this button for a cappuccino type).

If you use the door hanger order form, will they leave it outside your door or will they knock to bring it in?
Thanks!

We ordered it this week on the dream in the morning and I don't think it was even 10 minutes.

The only thing worse then warm coffee is no coffee.

My husband and I always take turns walking to the drink stations on the midship pool deck - they have a coffee/tea station on each side - or stop at the Cove cafe along the way. It lets us get some fresh air and try not to wake the kiddos. No issues with the quality of the coffee while onboard- although we are partial to our at home brew!
