For a 7:45am Ohana breakfast reservation. Do we (with kids) take the animal kindgom lodge bus to Magic kingdom and then transfer to the monorail? Or Take the AKL bus to the TTC and walk through the Poly grounds to Ohana? Which way is quicker and easier? How long will each method take? If transportion starts at 7am (the parks open at 9am, so transportation starts at 7am, right?), will we make it in time for a 7:45 reservation? Planning to hop the monorail to magic kingdom afterwards, any chance we'd make it for rope drop or don't count on it? Thanks.

I would just take a taxi. They're always available at the resorts.

That was my plan but we would need a rear facing car seat and a booster seat that we werent planning to travel with. SO trying to figure an alternate mode of transport, though i agree a taxi would be the easiest. I don't want to ride without car seats. I read that AKL could arrange a taxi with a car seat, but not sure if they have a booster seat. This would be the easiest.

The walk through the Polynesian from the TTL is quickest, assuming you know your way around the Polynesian resort. The monorail from MK to Poly isn't that much longer though. You could also take the water taxi from MK, but that stops at the Grand Floridian first.

There is no bus from the AKL to the TTC (at least there never has been when we were there). If you want to use Disney transportation the bus to MK and then the Resort Monorail to the Poly would be the best.

It's my understanding buses to parks start 1 hour before park opens so if MK doesn't open til 9 buses wouldn't start til 8. Not sure if the resort can work something out for earlier or not but might be worth a call.

oh, i had read they start two hours earlier, i'll have to look into that.

ok, useful info, i just assumed it would go there, thanks.

Buses start running at 6:30 am everyday. They do run a little less frequently until an hour before the parks open though.

When we stayed at Kidani, we would hop on an AK bus to the park, then ride a resort bus to the resort of choice.

One morning, we walked off the AK bus, then moved one loading ramp over and boarded the same bus to a resort. They actually changed the bus for us after they asked if we were going back to AKL.

Just ask the bus driver to check for buses returning to the desired resort. WDW is good at moving people around if you ask. I was the only guy on a bus early one morning for a fishing trip at the Contemp Resort from DTD.

If a taxi is not an option, then try MK to Monorail route, too.

They have breakfast busses that take you to your early morning breakfast. Sometimes you will get some pixie dust and the driver will take you to your breakfast instead of the park. Our driver did for us for an early Kona breakfast.

Thanks for the correction. Not sure why I had in my head an hour before, but def don't wanna be sharing wrong info!

I think I would bus to magic kingdom and then jump on the monorail but, if the bus to animal kingdom came first I would probably jump on it and then transfer to a poly bus

Do not do this. It will take forever to get from AK to the poly at that time. Buses do not run from the parks to the resorts until after the parks open. You would have to wait until someone realizes that you are trying to get to a resort and then have to wait until they dispatch a bus for you.

I know this thread is old....but thought I'd try asking. So the best way is to bus to MK and then hop on the monorail? Is the walk from the bus station far from the monorail?
Do you think 45 min is enough time to do this? we have a 9am Kona res.

1. Yes.
2. I don't think so, but it depends on how you define "far." You can measure it on Google Earth if you want an exact measurement.
3. Give it at least an hour. 75 minutes would be better.

From the Magic Kingdom bus station to the monorail station is roughly twice the distance from the bus station to the security tents at the park entrance.

There are breakfast buses ...

Then (like 15 years ago): "Character" buses ran earlier than the proverbial one hour before park opening bus schedule start to take resort guests to breakfast.

Now: Bus service starts at about 6:30 AM daily although not with the typical 20 minute headway at first.
