Best way to carry pins?

My kids like to take a few pins each and trade them throughout our trip with CMs. However, last time we did lanyards and the pins seem to come off easily, or we lose the backs, or they just are too darn heavy and bulky for my kids to wear comfortably. What ways have you found to carry your pins best? Large book or bag, small purse-style bag, lanyards, etc? I was hoping to find something small that each of them could wear, similar to what the CMs carry their pins on, but haven't seemed to find one yet. Any advice is appreciated!:rotfl:

I put all of my pins into a little coin-purse and stick that in my purse/bag.
I would not recommend putting them in a full-sized pin book/bag because those can be heavy and unwieldy to carry around the parks.

Would something like this work:
http://www.disneystore.com/mickey-mouse-pin-trading-bag-disney-parks-small/mp/1341859/1000285/

It's a pin bag, but it's a mini-bag. Each page only holds a few pins so it probably don't get super heavy (unless you load it up).

DD17 has a small pin bag that she carries, DD14 and I carry pins in our park bags, which are small sling style bags. We keep them in small plastic baggies inside a larger plastic bag. DBF usually carries a pin bag around (we have a lot of pins) and we all wear lanyards as well.

We leave the bulk of our pins back at the hotel, and just take the ones we don't mind trading(not too many) on a lanyard---easier to have out in order to trade--we just make sure to always use the locking pin backs!

We haven't lost one yet, using those backs! They come in a package of ten to twelve for about $5.00 or $6.00.

Good Luck! We love pins!:)

Yes, that bag looks great....I just wonder how many pins it will actually hold. I have 3 that will be taking pins this year and not sure I want to drop $30 on each kid. I may have to take a bag like that and only allow each of them to take 4-5 pins to trade each day otherwise we will be weighed down by pins! Thanks!

The description says it has three soft double sided pages. Based on the photo and a similar one that I have, I'd say you can fit three large or 5 smaller pins per page. It might fit more if you're willing to cram them together a bit. So, if each kid gets one page, they can probably store between 6 to 10 pins per person. :)

The best way to carry pins is very carefully! Or just have someone else carry them, so they can get poked instead of you.

Doh!!!! Wish I'd seen this thread earlier, missed out on some savings :( oh well full price is still better than the $25 at the Disney store and we can decorate it to our liking. Thx for sharing even though I missed it! Maybe someone else can benefit-bumping.

I sewed two little drawstring bags. One is pins I am trading and the other is pin I just acquired. I take both bags to the park with me. They shoved in a jeans' pocket or in a little purse very easily. I also wear a lanyard with about eight pins that are traders.

These are just for taking pins to the park. Then wen I get home the keepers get put into my collection. The traders wait in their drawstring back for their next trip to the park.
