What is the best way to get from the swan to the MK and from the swan to the Poly? Should I take the buses or walk through epcot to the monorail?
Thanks

I will be staying at the swan in 10 days!!!YAY!!! I have never stayed there before, but we plan on using the monorail. I don't know if it is any faster, but we really do not like shuttle busses as a rule, and it will be only me and DH, so I think that will be the best option for us. If you are dragging kids with you, it may be worth it to take the bus...less walking. I know my kids would rather ride than walk...especially at the end of the day. Also, we plan on ending our nights at world showcase, so monorail will be best for us... I think!!!LOL!!! Have a great trip!

I found the bus to be the most efficient method--every other way seemed either less direct or required more walking and/or a transfer, which were not popular with my party. We did end up driving a few times, but it didn't really seem like a time saver, particularly leaving at night, as you had to wait in a huge line for the monorail to the parking lot, and then a huge line for the tram to the car, unless you wanted to walk (as we did, through the thunderstorm.)

The other thing is that MK generally seemed to stay open longer than EPCOT, so when we did take the monorail over, we couldn't take it back again, as we wouldn't have been able to walk back though the closed EPCOT...

The buses are the best way to travel from the Swan to MK by far! It would be very time consuming to go to EPCOT and then take the Monorail to MK.

The bus on that MK route stops at the Swan first, so there won't be a problem getting a seat. Plus the busses come frequently. You can't take a bus directly from the Swan to the Poly, so you might want to use the monorail for that trip.

The walk from the Swan to Epcot is pretty long, maybe 15-20 minutes or so. You would need to walk past the Boardwalk, cross the bridge, (or walk past the Dolphin, Yacht Club and Beach Club) then enter Epcot at the International Gateway (between Great Britain and France) then walk all the way through Future World and exit the park at the front entrance to get to the monorail. Then you'll need to switch monorails at the TTC to get to the Magic Kingdom. The buses will stop at the Swan first then all the other resorts listed above so the ride might take 20-30 minutes but (at least for us) it beats the long walk.

You can also take the water taxi from the Swan to the International Gateway but it's a slow ride, pleasant but not the quickest way, then you'd still need to walk through Epcot for the monorail.

As for getting to the Poly, walk over to MGM (closest to Swan) and catch a bus directly to the Poly.

I am absolutely not a fan of bus transportation that is why I always stay at the Epcot resorts (so I can walk to Epcot and Studios) but the monorail is far from the resort. If you take the boat to Epcot it will take about 20-25 minutes (even if the boat is there because you need to stop at the BC/YC and then Boardwalk) then you have to walk all the way through WS to FW to the monorail stop. Walking may be a little quicker but it is still a long walk. Then you need to switch monorails at the TTC before you get to MK. The bus will definitely be quicker even if you have to wait a little while for it. And it takes you directly to the entrance of MK (first bus stop).

In the evening I have taken the monorail to Epcot from the MK because it is normally open later at those times of year and I like walking back to my hotel at night through the WS and picking up some almond pretzels and sweet bread from the Norway bakery. But if time and distance is a factor definitely take the bus!

Another definite for bus ot MK. And to Poly, bus to MK, then monorail or boat to Poly.

Without kids, we always walk through EPCOT to the monorail. I didn't think many others did this, and judging from the response here , I guess I was right. If you don't mind walking and hate waiting, this is the way to go. It doesn't take that long if you walk pretty fast, and you can take in the sights as you go. We even walk from MGM through EPCOT to get to MK if the bus isn't right there, but we do like to work off some of the fabulous meals and snacks we tend to eat at WDW. Have fun!Sus:)
