Big mistake on my part. I did not realize it was Star Wars Weekend.
The park was packed!
After a very late night the night before, we actually made it to the bus stop by 8:00am. Our first stop was the Back Lot Tour. My husband, nephew and daughter were part of the opening show where they film the Pearl Harbor sequence.
It was already heating up. Next, we did the Great Movie Ride. I don't know what was up with this ride but it took forever to get it the building. Once we did, it looked like some of the clean up crew were busy with buckets and mops on the platform where you get on. Maybe someone threwup. This is not one of my favorite rides but I was glad to get out of the heat. By the time we got off it was time for lunch. Along the way to Backlot Express, we got several photos with Storm Troppers and some kind of aliens. We also got to see some of the parade. My son and nephew were happy for this.
Im not sure what the temperature was by noon but I can not describe to you the how hot it was during the Indiana Jones Show. It did not start on time because of technical difficulties. We all had misters and fans but it really did not help much. The Beauty and the Beast Show was no better. I finally took all the parents to see One Mans Dream just so we could get in some air conditioning. The rest of the clan went to ride the Rockin and ToT.
We made it to SiFi for our 4:30 ADR just before the bottom fell out. It was another bad one. At Disney, you go from one extream to another. You go from wanting to melt from the heat to a restruant where they try to freeze you to death. I dont know which is worse. We finished eating and still the weather was really bad so we sat in the little gift shop / coffee shop for another hour.
It's amazing how you can entertain yourself when your bored.
I love Fantazmic. I was not sure how the parents would like it. Ther are old school you know. I thought they would think it was too dark. They loved it. They were glad they waited on those hard seats for 2 hours to see it.
