Hi all!

We are going to be in Disney in less then a month!!

We are staying offsite, but are planning on touring some of the Disney resorts on our non-park days. I've been hearing they are being stricter on the resort parking for people who aren't staying at the resort or don't have a dining reservation. Is that what you've experienced lately?

Also, what is the best way to get from the Boardwalk to Animal Kingdom Lodge, and then from Animal Kingdom Lodge to the Polynesian Resort?

Thank you!

I'd take the bus from BWI to AK, then take the AKL bus from AK.

I'd also take a MK bus and then monorail or boat to the Poly. An alternate plan would be to bus back to AK and take the Poly bus. But the monorail/boat is more fun.

I've never had a problem parking at other resorts, but I always stay onsite and have a Deluxe hotel parking pass on my dashboard. I also don't attempt to park at the resorts around park opening.. It's usually in the afternoon or early evening.

Parking at any of the Deluxe Resorts that are close to a park can be restricted based on the time of year. For instance, you will find that the Epcot resort will be much more strict about parking during F&W or for 4th of July. BWI/BWV parking is horrendous all year 'round and it's not unusual to have to stalk departing visitors for an empty parking space, even if you can get into the lot. I was at YC last fall (during F&W) when they had a convention going on. Parking was restricted to those who were either staying at the resort or had a confirmed ADR. Even then, we were directed to the overflow lot.

For BWI -> AKL, I would take the boat to HS and then an AKL bus.
For AKL -> Poly, take an MK bus and then either a boat or monorail.

If your going to epcot, just exit through the international gateway and walk around the lagoon for bwi bc and yc.

From BW take the AK bus, then the AKL bus from there
OR boat to DHS & then take the AKL bus

From AKL take the MK bus, and then take the monorail or boat to the Poly

I don't know how much it costs to park at a park but I'd park at HS, boat to BWI. Boat back to HS and bus to AKL, bus back to HS and bus to any of MK resorts and monorail hop between them, bus back to HS. I wouldn't park at any of the resorts unless you are will to pay for valet parking, as a person who stays at the deluxe resorts, I can tell you parking can be pretty tight at some of them, even for guests and it's complicated to get to another resort since they don't have resort to resort buses.

I'd park at TTC, take monorail to MK and go to bus loop to get BWI bus. From BWI you can walk or boat to DHS and get bus to AKL. From AKL take MK bus and transfer to GF/Poly boat to get to Poly. It stops at both GF and Poly
From Poly you're a short 5 min walk back to TTC to get your car.
Alternately from AKL you could also take the park bus to AK and transfer directly to Poly bus, but not nearly as enjoyable as the boat from MK to Poly.

Since your having a relaxing resort touring day, I'd go with the more fun journey..

It depends on where you're going.

You're not likely to get stopped going into a moderate...but if you try to go into the contemporary, Polynesian, Boardwalk, or animal kingdom...and the security guard is doing his/her job...you're not getting in.

There's no such thing as a "deluxe parking pass" by the way...there used to be more spaces in the lots and there simply aren't enough anymore...it's just numbers.

I meant that I was staying on site at another Deluxe resort, and I had the parking pass for that resort. I assume that makes me appear more legitimate if they see that, but perhaps they would treat any visitor the same way. I've parked at BWI, Poly, and CR, and never had an issue. I just told them I was visiting to shop and I was waved through with a smile, and told to enjoy my shopping. I was never given a time limit, or turned away.

Well...that's against the rules that have been enforced for a few years now. If you have a dining reservations they give you a two hour pass...if not it's no dice.

"I'm looking around the hotel" is not a good enough reason anymore. There are exceptions (but they're not doing their job) but it's not worth even asking now.

People have been telling me that for the last 10 + years, and I've resort hopped many times since then. You sound like you want to scare people away.

It's not me...

Read the sign when you drive up:

"We regret that we cannot provide parking accommodations except to registered resort guests and confirmed dining reservations"

Many...many...likely most get turned away now. And while I know the operation like the back of my hand and can talk my way through easily...I don't do it anymore. It's only fair.
