Best time of year to visit?

I've visited WDW a number of times, but am thinking of doing DL/DCA instead for my next trip, particularly since the DVC villas should be open by the time I have points available again.

I am wondering what time of year is best for visiting in terms of crowds and weather.

I'm not an expert in this but I've been to Disneyland countless times and in my experience the lowest crowds are January and February, but the potential for rain is also higher in these months. September tends to be a good month for a balance of crowds and good weather. However, I don't have any data to back this up... just my thoughts based on personal experience.
