I love the first two weeks of December. The decorations are fabulous, the crowds are nil, and the weather is usually great.

We are planning our first trip to WDW and are thinking about the first week in December! I'm glad to hear its a great time. :)

i like Oct. the best. the weather's perfect and the crowds weren't bad and we got to do the MVSHP. my next favorite is the first 2 weeks of Dec. it can get chilly, but it's decorated to the hilt for xmas.

have gone twice in Aug and would never go then again! hate the heat

October is my second favorite time to go after Christmas. The food and wine festival and MNSSHP are great. It's the Christmas decorations (I am a Christmas nut) that push early December just a little bit ahead for me.

This year I am driving over in October for a solo trip and in December I am meeting a long time (and long distance) friend who has never been to WDW. She's just heard me talk about it forever.

the first week of December and the week before Thanksgiving. Great weather, small crowds and decorations (for December but some start before Thanksgiving).

For the past several years we have gone during the first week of December. Great time to go, great weather, no crowds and beautiful decorations.

This year we are going the 3rd wk in Oct. and I am a little concerned about the heat and the crowds. Does anybody who has gone both those times want to give me a little comparison?

Thanx!

Suzanne

I've been several times in Oct. and early December. They are both great. There will be more people in October but nothing like in the summer. Same for the heat. My experience with October is that it is still hot but like 80s hot not 95 degree hot. The nights will cool off a little. In late October with a rainy day it's been chilly on occasion at night. I've found that's the exception not the rule.

I've found early December to be almost empty at times - CMs asking you to come into rides with no lines that might have huge waits in the summer.

Most of the time in October I have found lines but very short ones - fairly easy to navigate through the parks without huge masses of people. That said - people on DIS are commenting that the FTP and the increased popularity of the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot might make October busier than previously.

I would definitely use Fast Passes in October. I usually don't bother in December. My past experience (can't predict the future) is maybe a 10 minute longer wait in October.

And when I say hot in October consider that I was coming from San Francisco where 75 degrees is hot for us.

I thinkl that the end of october, of the first two weeks of december are a great time to go. I really enjoy xmas with all of the decorations!!! wekkends can be kindof hectic, so I would go during the week!!

this is when we are hoping to go 2004. do you know how the crowds and weather is. Im hoping that the food and wine festival will be done. we are planning on leaving disney either the fri or sat prior to thanksgiving thinking thats when the crowds will start to arrive thanks

I went the 3rd week in September. The crowds were nil but the heat and humidity were just about intolerable.

I have been i september for the past two years, great time, not that hectic. October is not tho bad either. I would save for Nov. to arrive the Sat after thanksgiving. The reason why? Most people will be leaving sunday to get their kids back to school. I have been the week after thanksgiving, and it's a breeze, great weathyer, enjoyable, and not heavy crowds.

For what my $.02 is worth. I would say, " May". For the past ten years we have been going to WDW around May 9th, ( daughters birthday) and the weather is always great. Temps are from mid 80's to low 90's, and it's hit or miss on the humidity, and for the most part very dry.

Now my second favorite time of year is January. That's the adult trip to play golf, PI, spirites etc...::yes::

We are travelling the first 2 weeks of February 2004.
Anyone got any experience of how busy this is.

Thanks

We went last year the week before Thanksgiving (actually flew home Thanksgiving night). It was absolutely wonderful. The weather was perfect (65-70) and the crowds were almost non-existent. Out first day at the parks, we went to MK on Saturday and were walking around and it was actually hard to navigate the park because there was literally no one around! You get used to just following to where the sea of people are!

When I was a teenager, my family and I went a couple of times in August (Mom works for a school district, so that was the time she had off) and the heat was terrible.

The great thing about the week before Thanksgiving is that most of the Christmas decorations were up already and not having to fight the crowds!

early Dec is my favorite followed by early Jan since those are the only times we have ever gone since the first time mistake of going in the summer(July, what were we thinking!)Since we are buying APs for this trip... those who have been, what is the weather like in early Nov. I would guess the crowds are lowish? more than Dec? what are the waits like then?would like to go to the food and wine fest. maybe. ( is this off topic?)

Our favorite time is late April (after the Easter crowds) early May. The weather is great, not to hot yet. The crowds seem fairly light. I have always wanted to go in early Dec. but have worried about the temps. being too cold. I wouldn't really care if it is cool for the parks but my kids would miss swimming in the pool. To all you Dec. veterans, is it ever warm enough to swim? I wish we were going this Dec. My DS4 would love the decorations.
