Best ticket for 15 days?

We will be going for 15 days and I'm having trouble deciding what kind of ticket to buy. The 10 day ticket would require me to plan out each day so that we are in the parks for only 10 of the 15. While this is possible, w will be traveling with 4 young adults who prefer to be flexible in their plans. We are used to the idea of planning a lot on the spur of the moment.

The regular annual pass costs more money and I would still have to pay for the extras besides the theme parks. The premium annual pass is way too expensive. Also, we only go to Disney every four or five years, so the annual pass would really be a huge waste of money.

I know they sell a 15 day ticket for UK visitors, and though I have friends in the UK who could purchase them for me, I'm not sure it is legal. Don't know why they don't sell them here because it would be perfect.

Any suggestions? Thanks, Kathy

Don't know about the UK thing but have you considered adding the Plus package to the tickets I think you get 6 for a 10 day ticket that would allow you to go to the water parks and Disney Quest on you non park days.

Could you break it up into two different tickets ? Maybe one ticket could be an 8 day pass with plus options, the other ticket could be a 7 day pass with NO plus options. Make both tickets to be non-expiring, so that you can still use what's left many years from now.

I'm sure that you have already looked at all of the options but, I thought I would put my 2 cents in!

Keep in mind that with an Annual pass you can get the Disney Dining Expierence for $60. This card will get you 20% off at most sit-down and some counter service restuarants. Over the course of 15 days you will likely save more than the extra amount that you will spend for the tickets. (unless of course, you are getting the free dining package!). Even if just one person in the party gets the Annual pass you can still get this discount card. The annual pass also gives you discounts in certain stores (world of Disney), Tours, and many other things. I bet that if you calculate the cost of the tickets with just one annual pass that you will end up spending less in the long run than you would buying 15 day tickets for everyone!! Plus, nothing beats the freedom to feel like you can go to the parks for any amount of time each day. With normal passes if you go for only 1 hour then you feel like you have wasted a day's ticket!!

And by the way, I would love to have the chance to go for 15 straight days! We are going for 11 days in June and it will be our longest trip yet! I can't wait!!

On another note... Universal Studios sells an abriviated annual pass for around $120 per person. It runs from Jan. 1 2006 to Dec. 31 2006. It has blackout days on all major holidays but is good any other day of the year! You could get the 10 day Disney Tickets and the Universal Studios pass to cover the other 5 days. They also have a promotion going right now where for every Adult 2 day ticket ($99) you get 3 free days and a free childs ticket. So, you could get those 5 extra days for $50 per person if you have kids as well!

The possiblities are endless!!

Have fun!

It is impossible to land on the minimum price for admission without first planning your schedule and casting that in stone.

Never by an 8 or 9 day non-expiring ticket.

13 days in the theme parks with hopping and an annual pass is better than Magic Your Way even if you don't come back.

With no hopping, a 10 day together with one other ticket is least expensive.

"Mommy is a Beatlemaniac and she went to Liverpool and all she brought me was this little card with Mickey Mouse on it (a 14 day unlimited Disney pass)"

The way I figure it..an AP is 319.52....that's for only the four parks..anything additional woud be OOP. The Premium AP if 574.05...way too much for 15 days worth of use. The MYW ticket for 10 days is $319.53 (non expiring) As I said, this does not work for us being there 15 days and wanting to keep our options open (as to visiting parks). I don't want to be a "schedule nazi"....would want to give everyone a chance to do what they want when they want.

Is there not a perfect ticket for me????

One thing you don't need to pay for on the 10 day ticket is the non-expiration feature - since you will be there for 15 days, the ticket will be used up anyway.

Do you have any plans for off-site things (or at least out of park thinks) like fishing, Cirque, Kennedy Space Center, etc.? If so, group these things together so a park entry is not an issue (for example, fishing in the morning, mini golf in the afternoon, Cirque at night).

Just looked at the price you mentioned - 319.53 - that actually is an expiring one. You can save some money with ticketmania (and a few dollars more if you go through mousesavers.com)

Don't forget, even if you don't spend the extra $60 on the DDE, you still get 10% discount on many of the table service restaurants in the parks and resorts with the AP. Also, when shopping for souvenirs, some of the shops at DTD have a discount with the AP. If you plan on doing any tours, renting boats, or doing any watersports, there is also a discount for these. My husband and I purchased PAP's for our 16 day trip in the fall and they were well worth it, as you can go to Disney Quest or a water park for a few hours then go to the parks for the evening without feeling guilty that you are using a whole day on your tickets and not getting your money's worth. If you want to be spontaneous and not have to plan so much, I would say that the AP's are the only tickets that will give you the flexibility that you are looking for.

An annual pass is $441.98 (adult). A Child's AP is $388.73.

A MYW pass expires within 14 days of first use so other than your last day I'm not sure why it wouldn't work for you. A 10 day hopping plus pass (5 uses at a plus option) costs $282 (these are advance prices.) Pluses (water parks, Disney Quest, etc.) can be used on the same day as other parks. You can get even better prcing by using a link through a Mousesavers newsletter (whch is free and e-mailed to you on the 15th of every month.) Kind DISers have also been know to forward it to those interested ;)

The Disney MYW 10 Day Adult 10+ Expiry Hopper purchased via Ticketmania ustilizing the Mousesaver.com newsletter discount costs $240. With the addition of the Water Parks & More Option (which gives you 6 options), it would cost $285. The later would provide you with 14 days worth of admissions--10 days worth of admissions to the 4 major parks (with the freedom to 'hop' between those parks), and then the additional 4 days during which you could go to a Water Park (BB or TL) for most of the day, then head over to DTD (where you might choose to use another 'option' to also hit PI &/or DQ if you like) or back to the resorts or whatever for the evening.

Personally, I think that could work out nicely. You don't have to plan in advance which dates to attend the major parks, and which dates to go to the Water Parks (&/or PI, DQ at DTD), if you don't want to. Just keep in mind that once you use up those ten days of major park admissions, you are then limited to using your other remaining 'options'. So I'd try to alternate back and forth between attending major parks, and attending water parks & such throughout the vacation. You might be surprised to find out how enjoyable it can be to spend a day exploring resorts such as the Animal Kingdom Lodge, or taking in a dinner show, or spending time at the Boardwalk, or checking out the night life at PI (if you go, be sure to visit the Adventurers Club). And don't forget all of the other available activities such as boat rentals, fishing excursions, golfing (or mini-golf), etc. that might appeal to certain members of your party.

One potential problem might be that either your arrival or departure date (your choice) would not be covered by the ticket, since the MYW would expire within 14 days of first use--unless you decide to add the Non-expiry feature (which would increase the cost significantly--raising the price to $418). But we've always tried to plan out our trips that way anyways, usually choosing to spend our last 'half day' at WDW having a good, table service breakfast/brunch, then hitting DTD to pick up some final purchases prior to departure.

If you genuinely feel that you will *need* more than ten days worth of admission to the 4 major theme parks in order to be happy, then I agree with others who have suggested that an AP is likely going to be your best bet. Then any WP or other 'options' are going to be an additional, out of pocket expense. Only you can decide what is most important to you, and how best to spend your money. But there certainly are a lot of fun things to do at WDW in addition to just the major theme parks. :wizard:

You're getting a lot of feedback here considering price and extras with certain tickets, but this question is one you can only answer yourself as the good folks here at the DIS have differing opinions on what a "perfect ticket" will be. The definitive answer is your own...the boards can steer you, but can't decide "perfect" for you. ;)

For us, in that situation, I buy at least one annual pass, the hotel, dining, and other purchase discounts will make up for the difference in price. Are you staying on-site? If so, the AP will pay for itself easily in the hotel savings alone.

It seems the UK ticket option is your best bet. "Legal" only applies to where they sell them. If you have a contact in the UK that can pick them up and mail them over, and that fits your situation the best you should probably do that.

I'd still get one AP, though. :)

Are you staying onsite or offsite? If you stay offsite an AP gets you free parking. That's $9/day. Of course if you are staying onsite, free parking is included.

personally i would go for the UK tickets, its you can get 14 days unlimited entry to all the parks with all water parks, disneyquest, and hopping included for £179 thats about $322

DH and I have used these before, and there is no way for disney to know if you are from the UK or not.

Annual Passes are a good idea for long trips not covered by the other passes, and you can always return with them during the year.

Ap without a doubt. Any other you are spending to much.
