So... I've heard lots of suggestions, but where can we get the best sushi and sashimi in the World? So far, I've heard sushi can be found at Kimono's, California Grill, Benihana, Seito, Wolfgang Puck, Teppanyaki, Tempura Kiku and Matsunoma. Yakitori House... the list goes on!

What's your favorite, and why?

DH and I love Matsunuomo (sp?) because we enjoy the atmosphere. What better way to enjoy "Japan" than eating good sushi? DH swears it's the best sushi he's ever had. I think it's good but I've had so much sushi in different places that it's hard to say. We also love that the sushi chef always makes a little mickey with the wasabi :p

Definitely Kimonos at the Swan.

Not only is it great sushi/sashimi, but after 9pm you get karaoke! Plus there are some couches in the middle of the room. It was great!

PS: their martinis are awesome too.

My husband and I honeymooned at WDW last year on the Gold Plan for 11 days. Every day somehow managed to include sushi. Of all the places you mentioned, I've tried them all with the exception of Benihana's (which I have also tried here in Chicago). I would definitely agree that Matsunoma Lounge is a great place to go for sushi. The atmosphere is nice and the sushi is very good. Of all the places that serve sushi in the "World", they are all very good, but if I had to pick the best, I'd have to say Wolf Gang Pucks (if you sit at the sushi bar, the sushi chef often recommends items not found on the menu; and California Grill has excellent sushi as well. Pretty much wherever you decide on, I think you'll be pleased!

I second the CG and Kimonos recommendation. The CG is always top notch. I'm not really into the whole kareoke thing at Kimonos (although it does provide for some surreal moments... last time I was there there was an Australian guy in a kilt drinking sake and singing Kenny Rogers songs ... talk about culture clash) but the sushi was very good. I tried to talk to the chef, who seemed to speak only Japanese, so I took that as a good sign, too. :)

(Actually, I think the Swan, where Kimonos is located, has a special Japanese reception desk because of the number of visitors from that country that pick the hotel; that may or may not speak to the authenticity of the food.)

That's my thought with the Swan. They cater to a lot of Japanese visitors so their sushi/sashimi has to be authentic. That and the Japanese sushi chef. Can't go wrong there.

Kimonos, definately. We also enjoy getting a sushi fix at Tempura Kiku.
