Why the budget board - because I'm tired of wasting money on products that don't work! We have 2 DD, 14 and 10, who is a fair skinned red head! What are your favorite sunscreens and deoderants - expensive or cheap! There's always ebay for the expensive stuff!! Thanks!

Bullfrog is the best a little pricey but great. Next to that we use NO-AD. It really works great and is inexpensive. Can't help with the deoderant I think everyone is different when it comes to that. Secret platnium is good though.:D

I second the NO Ad, great stuff. I am very light and burn very easily and this stuff really works. I use the SPF 15.

I like the Coppertone Spectra 3 ! It came out last year, and it works great! Comes in SPF 30 and 50 for adults, a Kids formula with SPF 50, and WaterBabies formula of SPF 50.

Coppertone Spectra3

(That's an adorable mermaid!) I have been lucky enough to find a national brand sun screen in SPF 30 or 50 at the dollar store once in awhile. Other than that, my daughter swears by no-ad brand in SPF 50. I am pale and red-haired and she is fair and blonde. I always use Mitchem unscented solid stick when we go to WDW. It always works the best for me.

Is there any better brand of deoderant for woman than Secret? If there is, I don't know of it.

For sunscreen - tenns hate to use sunscreen but they wanted to use the Walgreens Gel 30 spf for faces ears and necks and Coppertone Sport Spray spf 30 waterproof. The Excelent thing about these is they won't run in your eyes like lotions will. And they really work!! 10 in Florida no sunburn!! Dh[fair & blonde] 14 complained that no one at school would believe she had been on vacation because she wasn't even tanned!!

I have to say the best sunscreens are NO-Ad and Bullfrog. My DD is very fair-skinned (she gets sunburned during recess at school if she has no block on!). For women's deodorant, I'm a fan of Soft and Dri scented. I've been to WDW in July, so believe me, I've tested it out!

Good morning!!

I had no idea the No-Ad sunscreen was so good. I will have to buy a bottle, as it is much cheaper than the other brands and I'm sure I have seen it at Big Lots. We have been using VitaSkin by Banana Boat in SPF 50. My daughter also uses the Spectra brand for everywhere except her face. For her face she uses Faces, I think made by Coppertone. She is a lifeguard, and practices soccer almost everyday in the summer, so she more than gets her exposure time in the sun. I think the big thing with my family is finding something that will not break us out or cause stinging or burning type reactions. It seems to be the methylcinnamate (spelling?) in most sunscreens that causes the problems for my family. We're going to the water park in Philadelphia (MS) today, otherwise I wouldn't be up so early to post.

Someone from these boards recommended a deodorant called Certain Dri. Expensive but we tried it and it does keep you very dry.

The important thing isn't what kind you use, but HOW MUCH and HOW OFTEN you use it. You have to really slather it on, and then reapply several times during the day. And remember to apply at least 30 minutes before sun exposure.

We're very fair. We use a variety of different suncreens. My son doesn't like the smell of many of them, so we often use Ocean Potion. It has an orange aroma. Very nice.

We like the Coppertone oil free lotion. Most lotions make me feel sticky and sweaty (especially in the Florida heat), but this one is so light I don't even feel it. My 14 year old son will wear this and nothing else without a fight. We use either the 15 or 30 SPF. I have never burned and I have very fair skin.

We have tried everything, cause DH works outside and gets fried most of the time. He likes Surf, by Banana Boat. It stays on and you don't get that greasy film on your skin. And it stays on for a good long time...

As far as deoderant I have used all of them, the only thing I find different is the solids leave a clump of goo in your armpits especially on DH, who has hair. Gross looking!! The gels don't.. They both work good, also Secret has a smell when it is activated by heat, I can always smell it on people, kind of a chemical smell.....

Good Luck and have fun!!!:chat: :chat: :chat: :chat:

Yep, Dove and Soft and Dri baby powder scent.

As far a sunscreen is concerned, I don't think I'd buy it from Big Lots or the Dollar stores. Sunscreens do expire, you're supposed to get a new bottle every year, no telling how old they are from these stores.
Bull Frog is our favorite and the kids kind is the only formula that doesn't sting my daughter's face. It may be a few dollars more, but really, what's a few dollars when you're talking about skin protection?

I third it (hehe.) I used to use Degree but like Mitchem even better. I like Neutrogena oil free sunblock and the Coppertone oil free that was mentioned. Bull Frog is great if you are going to be in the water a lot (snorkeling, water park, etc..)

This is a good consideration, too. Some of us are very sensitive, also. I have not looked at the ingredients in the no-ad but it must not contain this ingredient. I'll have to look. Thanks!

I have strawberry blonde hair and I use Coppertone Sport SPF 48. It is sweatproof and waterproof. We were able to spend the entire day at BB and had no burn. I reapplied it at lunchtime. I did put a shirt on from 12-4. I was afraid to take the chance anything would work on my back and shoulders. I started using it because it is what my son uses at track meets. It works for him all day and I know he doesn't reapply it when I'm not around.

I also like Coppertone Sport. It blends in easily, protects well, and doesn't cause me to have an allergic reaction. My favorite antiperspirant is Sure unscented solid.

I always take both Coppertone Sport spray
SPF 15 and CT Waterbabies SPF 45 for the
kids. I had one vac. ruined one year from
a bad sunburn so I make sure that it doesn't
happen again. You can sometimes find coupons
in the Sunday paper for Coppertone products.
My grandson is real fair complected and he
is well protected with the Waterbabies in a
high SPF, never gets burned.
