Best Summer Time to Cruise?

Can some summer cruisers please help me out here! From looking at cruise prices, mid-June into mind-July seems to be the most expensive. The prices go down at the end of July into August. Is the weather worse then? Which would be the best time to cruise?

Really, I have never cruised in the summer, so I can't help...

Have cruised a couple of times during the summer.

The earlier in the season (June) the temps are a few degrees cooler and the humidity can be much much less than later in August. Its the humidity that can make the heat almost unbearable.
