I have a thread already going on the best shoes to wear at the parks and many of you have commented on wearing the right socks. I have never given this aspect much thought.

So.... what are the best socks? I wear regular old socks you get at Walmart. I have to make sure my feet are comfortable this next trip to Disney in Jan.

Give me your opinion.

It may sound silly but you can never be too prepared for your Disney trip.

Your post made me laugh- a few weeks ago we spent a few days at MK and EPCOT and DW's socks drove her crazy the whole time- they were the short kind that are just the same height as her shoes and they kept slipping down. Funny how a little thing like that can drive you nuts!

I like socks with Coolmax (you can get them lots of places; I got mine at Target). Whatever style you wear, they really do keep your feet cooler.

Agree, I wore coolmax socks on our summer trip and it really helped keep me comfy!

I wear Wig Wams a short sock with arch support I get them at a store for cross country/track runners. They really help when your on your feet all day. They price out about $7 a pair but well worth it.

Definitely Cool Max.from target stores. They really
work! I have never gotten a blister when wearing
them!! Have a fun trip! :)

The kind of Coolmax socks with the extra padding on the bottom. C9 from Target in the low-cut style. Love them. I think the right socks are almost as important as the right shoes. Sweaty cotton socks are a blister-causing nightmare!

I agree with another poster who replied that they think good socks are as important as good shoes!!

I prefer to wear Smart Wool socks. I know, it sounds crazy, wearing "wool" socks, but that particular brand guarantees not to itch and it is true! Even if they get a little wet (i.e. water rides, etc), they won't create the creases that cotton socks (i.e. blister makers) do.

They're not inexpensive, but I often look online for closeout deals.

OK as rediculos?? as this sounds at footsolutions they sell the awsome socks that make your feet feel like they are in sock heaven. When i went to put on my regular socks my feet cried. They are 13 a pair.....thats right 13 a pair!!! Now i for one almost fainted when i heard the price but let me tell you they are on my christmas list and are worth every penny for anyone who needs help in the foot. I have heel problems and the sock act as extra padding on your foot, take away moisture from your feet, and feel so darn great :cloud9: :cloud9: NO i do not work for them either but if you want to you cantry them out at your local store they are money back guarenteed!!!

I agree with the person who posted about socks with arch support. I find it's a must for me. I can walk longer without my feet aching or getting tired.

What is the brand name of these socks?

Which store to you get them at? I am in the Midwest, can I get them at a place like Macy's?

Thanks for your input.

I wore Thor-lo socks for years, but my sister gave me a pair of Smart Wool socks before I made a trip to Costa Rica. Wow! They are just terrific.

My sister is very, very picky about her shoes and socks - has to wear custom orthotics too because of her feet. She swears that she will never wear anything else but Smart Wool again.

They were $17 a pair (yikes) at the Sporting Goods store, but you can often find them on markdown at Sierra Trading.

These socks are found at FootSolution Stores. They are on the web and I don't remeber the name of the socks but they are the only ones they carry so it should not be hard to find. Good luck with getting them but once you have them your other socks will never...and i do mean never feel good again!!! :goodvibes

The best socks you can buy are from an athletic shoe store. My children are runners (XC and Track) and I just love the socks they wear with their running shoes. They stay in place and soak in any sweat.

Hi, my advice, wear ones that you usually wear at home. I have lots of varieties (and being from the UK most of them are coloured with cartoon characters on them - yey) but I know which ones will stay on my feet and which ones wont. It's so important to have comfortable feet!

Love and Pooh socks

I work at a running specialty store, and our most popular socks are Balega socks- they are seam-free on the bottoms (so you don't get blisters from the seams rubbing or bunching up), they are wicking to keep your feet dryer, there are some styles that have the extra arch support, and they come in different thickness/heights. They also have extra padding on the heel, foot bed, and even on top of your toes to protect them. I love them!

I would guess that most running specialty places would carry them, but if not, you could pm me and I can try and help you if you are interested.
