We are staying by Disneyland and wondered where to go for the best shopping malls and outlets ect in the Anaheim / Newport Beach / Universal Hollywood areas? We plan on going to the Block at Orange, Westfield Mainplace, Downtown Disney and Citywalk on our visit to Universal, are these any good or would you recommend any others? I have tried to find some Outlets but not had much success. Brands I'm interested in are A&F, Hollister, American Eagle, Old Navy, Billabong, Vans and Converse in particular.
Also somewhere that sells trainers/sports shoes & clothing discounted.

We are not having car hire so can only go via tours, public transport or taxi. Also does anyone know of any outlets in Las Vegas as we are there for 4 days after our stay in Anaheim?

Any advice/tips or recommendations would be great.

Pete

Wow, that´s funny! I just logged on to ask the exact same question! I am also looking for outlets in Anaheim and Vegas. Would like to find the same brands + Osh Kosh, GAP, Nike and Puma.

If you travel up the 5 freeway north from Disneyland, you will reach the Citadel outlets...I believe the exit is either Firestone or Atlantic.

Citadel Outlets

Useless Trivia: The Citadel outlets are in the building that used to be the Firestone tire factory years ago.

If you are travelling to Vegas by car, THE outlets to hit are in Barstow, right off the 15 freeway. You can't miss it.

A list of merchants in Barstow can be found here: List of Barstow Outlets

If you are going towards Newport Beach, be sure to check out Fashion Island - it's an outdoor mall with a nice view of the ocean. Truly upscale, and really nice to walk around on a sunny day.

Have a fun trip!

I would personally skip Westfield Mainplace and had a little further south and go to South Coast Plaza. It has the best collection of stores than any mall in Southern California.

I second going to South Coast. Just note...your message said you wanted an outlet. If you are looking for bargain prices, South Coast is not the place. It has a great selection of stores and brand names, but it's a regular mall not a discount outlet. It's fun and you never know which stores might be sporting a sale :)

There is also an bunch of outlet stores on Highway 5 South in Irvine.

The Beverly Centre isn't an outlet but they have Gap and stores like that there.

Vegas has at least two outlet malls - there's a new Premium Outlet about 5 minutes drive north from the strip (there are also shuttles that take you there) and another outlet mall about 15 minutes south (again there are shuttles, but I can't remember the name of it). We went to Premium this year, I don't recall A&F, Hollister or Old Navy but you get Gap, Banana republic, Nike, French Connection - effectively the same stores as in the Orlando Premium Outlet. There's also an larger outlet Mall at Primm about 1 hour south of vegas - again, they probably do do shuttles. This had American Eagle, Forever 21, Banana Republic, Gap etc. Plus, right on the strip you have a huge mall, name escapes but it's opposite the Wynn.

I'm not sure about outlets in Anaheim, we've certainly never visited one - we tend to drive to the one near Palm Springs - can't remember exactly what stores are there, except Gucci and Prada!!!!

Many thanks, I'm spoilt for choice now lol the South Coast Plaza sounds good and I see from there website they offer a shuttle from the Disneyland area.
Is the The Beverly Centre any good? I think the LA/Hollywood tour we are thinking of doing stops there for about 2 hours.

The Beverly Center is nice. It's has traditional stores (gap, banana republic) with a sprinkling of upscale stuff (Dior/Vuitton).

If you're in that neighborhood, I would say check out The Grove instead. It's an outdoor mall that looks a bit like Main Street USA. They also have a smaller version of the Bellagio Fountain. The Gap/Banana Republic/A&F all have their flagship stores there.

The mall near Palm Springs is called Desert Hills Premium Outlets. They have very good selections.

You can definatly skip any 'outlet' shopping in OC/LA. They're just not worth it IMO. Are you driving to Vegas? If so, you'll be in outlet heaven :) You'll have lots of choices. On the SoCal side there's Ontario Mills. I think they probably have every store you mentioned. It's one of the better (though not my favorite) outlet malls.

Definatly stop by the Tanger outlet in Lenwood (Barstow). Go to the office and get the AAA book (if you don't have AAA you pay like $4 for it). There are great coupons, like 25% (or is it 30?) off GAP or OldNavy purchase for $100 or more. It's a small outlet mall, but clean restrooms and those GAP and Old Navy coupons are MORE then worth the stop. There's also a Guess, Tommy, Ralph Lauren, and Reebok/rockport. Oh, and some bras (Maidenform?). Across the street is a dirty, rundown outlet mall. Most of the stores are empty, but there's at least 2 stores that carry the 'teenager' surfer brands (***********, Roxy, No Fear). There's a Vans store and all the usual outlet shoe stores. Childrens Place. I can't think of anything else worth stopping at.

At state line there is an outlet mall. Lots of higher end stores. Tommy Bahamas and froo froo brands I don't know. Plus all the regulars. Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph and Childrens Place, Old Navy, Banana Republic, *********** (factory store). This ones also got a William Sonoma/Holds Everything/Pottery Barn outlet! The only one in the west coast as far as I know.

Belz in Vegas. I think it's trashy and not worth it. It's very popular though.

The new Fashion outlet in Vegas. It's going to be the cleanest and has a good selection of high end stores. It's not as great as they play it up to be IMO though. They do have a nice fossel outlet. If you don't like to dig through piles of junk and sweaty tourists though, this is your mall (plus a stop at the Tanger in Barstow! It's a must).

Theres my two cents :)

Hmmm. I guess we're not allowed to say ***********. Did the nice people at *********** offend the Disboard powers that be or something :lmao: It's Quick Silver
