MapQuest and Yahoo give me two different routes when coming to DL from I-15. One says Highway 91, the other says Highway 60. I've also read I-210 is an option and so is I-10. So, from the experts - which is the BEST route?

We will be driving in on a Sunday afternoon, so hopefully rush hour traffic won't be too bad, but I realize no traffic is not an option in L.A.

Thanks for your advice...

Not knowing where you are coming from...

15
91west to the 57south to 5 north

Take Katella or Harbor depending on where you are staying.
The 10, 60 and 210 are way north of DL, although you could take any of them to the 57.

It depends where on the 15 you are coming from.

North of the 210:
15-210-57-exit Katella or Ball

Near the 10:
15-10-57-exit Katella or Ball

Near the 60:
15-60-57-exit Katella or Ball

Near the 91:
15-91-57-exit Katella or Ball

I, personally, would avoid the 91 at all costs. We used to take the 91 to DL and after trying the 10-57 once, we haven't gone back to the 91. Even during rush hour, it's so much better. Less traffic=less stress and since they finished the 210, we now take the 210-57 route and it's even better.

Thanks for the help. We'll be coming from Utah, so quite a ways north of the 210. We did the 91 on the last trip and it was a little stressful. We'll give the 210 a try since that seems to be our first and maybe best option. Thanks again...

I drove in last Sunday (coming from Calgary) I15 to 215 to 91 turn onto Harbour.
We stayed at RV Park. Very easy to get to. Sunday drive from Vegas was brutal. Worse I'd seen in last 7 or so years of driving down to SD. Don't think I'd want to do it again on a Sunday.

We do the drive to/from Vegas every year. The worst day to go to Vegas from LA is Friday and the worst day to LA from Vegas is Sunday. (It's clogged w/ all the LA party people driving over for the weekend!)

If you decide you want to take the 91, there is no reason to get on the 215. You can just take the 15 the 91.

Sorry for the wrong info on the 216. I was on it coming back from SD. I saw the signs for 91 and thought 'I don't remember this on the way down'. I guess it's because I didn't use it.

I agree with that. We try to get through Vegas by 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning so we miss all the crazies going back to LA. I've heard of 7-hour traffic jams due to accidents along that route.

I'd take the 91 over the 210. It's only about 15 miles from the 91 to the 57, and unless you hit it during morning rush hour, it won't be that bad, and traffic-wise, the 210 will be just as bad as the 91.

Take 15 (not 215, that is way out of the way!) to the 91 west, and then get on the 57 south, and take the Ball exit. It will take you directly to the entrance of Mickey and Friends and the DLR hotels.

Any suggestions on coming in from Phoenix on I-10?? Mapquest wants to route us down onto the 91 - we will be coming in about 9 am - last time was very very confusing - lots of construction!

Is it better to just stay on the 10 all the way in and go down the 57? It means crossing several towns during rush hour.

A friend of mine got stuck in traffic for 11 hours on a Friday returning to Vegas from LA. :scared1: He went to Disneyland and didn't realize the traffic going home on a Friday was going to be that insane! He said people were literally getting out of their cars and walking around because the traffic just wasn't moving at all. (Not sure if there was an accident or what happened to cause that...) He said he heard after the fact that that's just the way it is during certain hours trying to get to Vegas from LA on a Friday. Nuts! :headache: I would lose my mind  if I had to stay stuck in that kind of a traffic jam.

I drive from Utah and have always taken I-15 to 91 to 57 to Ball Rd. Never had a problem. At times the 91 has become a bit crowded but never so bad as to avoid it altogether. It seems to me that this is the most direct route.

There is still a ton of construction going on. To avoid it, stay on the 10 to the 57.
