Best ride to do at night

I don't think anyone mentioned this yet - or if so, I missed it - but how about the Mark Twain? That still runs at night, right? I remember riding it on it at night years ago and I liked it better than in the daytime!

Oh, and often times, the POTC line is almost non-existent during fireworks and Fantasmic. We went on POTC 3 times in a row once while the fireworks were happening because there was nobody in line, so keep that in mind!

Mark Twain only runs when there's no Fantasmic! that night. I remember going in October and Fantasmic was not showing and it was very strange seeing the boat run at night. Looks like it would be a lot more fun at night.

Thanks..Never thought about all of this till I read this..

Summertime is hot and crowded, so get some pool time during day and enjoy some rides at night!

Thanks! Can't wait!:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

I think the only attraction that isn't either better or no difference at night is the train. I think anyone who isn't staying in the park until an hour after closing is crazy, unless they have small children etc.
At WDW we always do the evening magic hours and love them! Nothing like sleeping in till noon on vacation at Disney!

These are all fantastic! I am definitely going to try and do some rides at night for this trip. Even if my family goes back to the room and I do them solo!;):scared1::banana:

OK, silly question maybe... but what time does it get dark in the middle of August? 9:00 pm?

DLR can be SO romantic at night! Storybook Canal boats is one of my favorite rides and at night it is MAGICAL! I love Splash at night, too cuddled up with(or leaning back into) someone you love, floating along the flumes. Sigh! Can't wait until my kids are older and we can go on rides after dark again.

My choice would be the Matterhorn. I love riding it at night. My 2nd choice would be California Screaming.

Teacups is a definite trip (in a Pooh ride kind of way) at night with all of the colored lights. I am also partial to the Jungle Cruise because the jokes are more complex and the darkness and lack of crowds walking by from Indy help enhance the illusion that you're in the jungle.

We love BTMRR and Matterhorn as well as riding POTC at night lines are shorter and on BTMRR & Matterhorn catching them while fireworks are going off is an exp. not to be missed!!!!!

Another vote for the Jungle Cruise at night...

although some young children might be afraid of the dark.

splash mountain (whe there is a parade going on) you assend (sp?) up and you watch the parade it's a pretty awesome site to see!

It's not a ride, but the last time I was at DL me and my DGF were basically one of the last guest in the park that night and we walked through the castle hearing when you wish upon a star playing and not another person in sight. I thought that was really special, all the thousands that were in the park earlier that day and just you and a very very few left in the park. It was neat.

When I was in Disneyland this past spring , our favorite rides at night were Big Thunder Mountain at night at Disneyland. This ride at night far outshines the WDW Version. At California Adventure, it was California Screaming at night. We could not get enough of it. IT was our first time out to Disneyland, and the parks were awesome at night. Love them!:):)
