What are the best restaurants at Disney? I am looking to do the dining plan again, but learned the first time. We had no reservations, now I want to make some reservations far in advance. Looking at the nice table service meals primarly.

That's too bad you had no reservations next time! Our favorites are:

Magic Kingdom: Liberty Tree Tavern (for lunch - the fried cheese is amazing and the desserts are good too!)

Hollywood Studios: Sci-Fi (spinach artichoke dip and milkshakes!) or 50's for lunch (we did 50's for dinner once and didn't care for it but that could've been due to a different server or just our moods that day, not sure). If you go to 50's the smores dessert is really good. The appetizers there are not great.

Epcot: Coral Reef (mahi mahi!), Rose & Crown. Akershus for breakfast if you want to meet princesses. Garden grill was good here too.

Animal Kingdom - haven't done any restaurants here yet

Downtown Disney: Raglan Road - great entertainment too if you plan your meal for when it starts. Captain Jack's is decent too, esp if you want lobster tails as this is the only place you can get it for 1 TS credit on the meal plan.

Resorts: Ohana for dinner, 1900 park faire for breakfast (strawberry soup! and alice in wonderland), Chef Mickey's for breakfast, Boma for breakfast, Cape May clambake (One of DF's faves).

Places we regret:

Hollywood & Vine - we did this because it was one of the few places in the studios with the Fantasmic package. Just nasty. Never again!

Chefs de France - It wasn't bad but it definitely didn't live up to what i've heard or what they price themselves at. Incredibly average/forgettable

Crystal Palace dinner - This was just bad. We have heard such good stuff so maybe we have caught it on a bad day. But it didn't live up to the reviews I've read. We are trying it again for breakfast to see if that's better.

We enjoy:
LeCellier
Coral Reef
Mama Melrose
'Ohana (we've only done breakfast)
Crystal Palace
California Grill
Whispering Canyon Cafe'
Chef Mickey's
Plaza Restaurant
Beaches and Cream (for the Kitchen Sink) but they don't accept ADR's

Places we enjoy but don't feel the need to go every vacation:
1900 Park Faire
Yak and Yeti
Liberty Tree Tavern
Boatwright's (Port Orleans Riverside)
Wolfgang Puck Cafe'
Boma
50's Prime Time

The only place we hated was Tony's Town Square. I'm glad we ate breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table but we won't be going back. Also, Rainforest Cafe' and Planet Hollywood aren't anything special (to us). We've eaten at both in Chicago and don't care for them.

Places we'd like to try:
Kona Cafe'
Grand Floridian Cafe'
Sci-Fi
Cape May
Spoodles
Fulton's
Rose and Crown
Teppan Edo
Brown Derby
Captain's Grill
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Cap'n Jack's

We love
Kona Cafe
Tuttu Italia
Chef's de France
Le Cellier
San angel inn for Lunch
California Grill
Crystal Palace for breakfast
Boma

For a lovely sit-down dinner, I don't think you can beat Tutto Italia. I think it might be the most upscale of WDW's 1-TS restaurants. We really enjoyed it (Copetta Sotto Bosco for dessert! Profiteroles were delish too).

Our favorites:

Epcot -- LeCellier, Biergarten and Rose and Crown
Magic Kingdom -- Crystal Palace (breakfast), Plaza Restaurant (lunch or dinner), Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch)
Animal Kingdom -- Yak & Yeti
Hollywood Studios -- Mama Melrose and 50's Prime Time

We are trying Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge next September--it gets rave reviews for both breakfast and dinner

Places we will never go back to: Hollywood & Vine, Boatwright's (dinner) and Whispering Canyon Cafe

Our Favorites:

2 Table service - a dead tie between Yachtsman Steakhouse and California Grill

1 Table service - no competition, Tutto Italia, great food and friendly wonderful service!!

Wolfgang Puck Cafe for us! On all levels- food service and atmosphere.

I think it is a great value.

Considering you are using the DDP Le Cellier and Tutto Italia are no brainers. You get great food and value for only 1 TS credit. Besides that some other great choices are Jiko, 50's PT, Brown Derby, and Yak & Yeti.
