What are the best restaurants at Disney? I am looking to do the dining plan again, but learned the first time. We had no reservations, now I want to make some reservations far in advance. Looking at the nice table service meals primarly.
That's too bad you had no reservations next time! Our favorites are:
Magic Kingdom: Liberty Tree Tavern (for lunch - the fried cheese is amazing and the desserts are good too!)
Hollywood Studios: Sci-Fi (spinach artichoke dip and milkshakes!) or 50's for lunch (we did 50's for dinner once and didn't care for it but that could've been due to a different server or just our moods that day, not sure). If you go to 50's the smores dessert is really good. The appetizers there are not great.
Epcot: Coral Reef (mahi mahi!), Rose & Crown. Akershus for breakfast if you want to meet princesses. Garden grill was good here too.
Animal Kingdom - haven't done any restaurants here yet
Downtown Disney: Raglan Road - great entertainment too if you plan your meal for when it starts. Captain Jack's is decent too, esp if you want lobster tails as this is the only place you can get it for 1 TS credit on the meal plan.
Resorts: Ohana for dinner, 1900 park faire for breakfast (strawberry soup! and alice in wonderland), Chef Mickey's for breakfast, Boma for breakfast, Cape May clambake (One of DF's faves).
Places we regret:
Hollywood & Vine - we did this because it was one of the few places in the studios with the Fantasmic package. Just nasty. Never again!
Chefs de France - It wasn't bad but it definitely didn't live up to what i've heard or what they price themselves at. Incredibly average/forgettable
Crystal Palace dinner - This was just bad. We have heard such good stuff so maybe we have caught it on a bad day. But it didn't live up to the reviews I've read. We are trying it again for breakfast to see if that's better.
