Best restaurant in Disney Hollywood Studios

Brown Derby is the best but it does have a higher pricetag and is more upscale. I always have to have the oyster brie soup. My DH eats steak everywhere we go and he thought his steak was better at BD then LC the night before.

Sci-fi has the best burgers and onion rings and is one of the coolest interiors of any restaurant.

Those are my two must's every trip.

The Brown Derby is undoubtedly the best restaurant at the Studios. It's fashioned after the original Brown Derby in Hollywood, which, sadly, no longer exists. (By the way, there's no connection between this BD and the chain of restaurants with the same name.)
The Brown Derby is where the Cobb salad originated. Legend has it that a Hollywood mogul came into the Brown Derby late one night back in the 1930s. There wasn't a lot left in the kitchen, so owner Bob Cobb took the ingredients that were on hand and chopped them all up into the salad that now bears his name.

Well, my family did not like the Brown Derby at all...........I am a salad fanatic, in fact I could eat a big salad for every meal, but the texture of the Cobb did me in. I could hardly stand to eat it............yuk! We ate there because of all the great reviews on the DIS........however, we found the best food in the whole place to be the sugared apples that come on the child's plate. Imagine that!

There aren't many good choices at the studios.........in my opinion!

50's Prime Time.......just ate there tonight!! :cool1:

Did they have a crabcake on their menu? Someone posted a pic of it on the disboards, but haven't seen it on the menu. What did you have? We get to try it for the 1st time next December. I can't wait.

We love Brown Derby. Not sure how it fits in with the dining plan, because even though it is out favorite in HS I do not feel it is worth the 2 ts (or equal to cali grill, jiko etc) we usually pay oop and use DDE.

We enjoy Sci-fi but only if we want burgers and shakes etc. We really disliked Mama Melrose and we are trying 50's in jan for the first time.

We love the 50's Prime Time Cafe. It is good (not great) "Down Home" cooking. The atmosphere is cute and the servers have always been fun.
We have not eaten at the Brown Derby, so I can not compare the 2.

We've always had great meals at MaMa Melrose, love the atmosphere and the shrimp Penne at Sci-Fi, and Brown Derby's Cobb salad is super!

As far as a fun dining experience, we love Sci-Fi. 50's Prime Time is good as well, but nothing beats eating at the Sci-Fi in a car watching old tv and movie clips!

Sci Fi has the best burgers in all of Disney, after eating cosmic rays, at the other counter service I want a really good (grilled) burger and Sci Fi has it.
