My suggestions, in order of preference:

--------------------------------------------------------------

Hoop Dee Doo Revue Dinner Show @ Ft. Wilderness

Its unforgetable fun for the whole family.

Make ressies ASAP, it can book up months in advance.

Whispering Canyon Cafe @ Wilderness Lodge

Not a dinner SHOW, exactly, but the wait-staff is a LOT of fun.

Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom

Great "Thanksgiving" -type food and lots of characters.

My suggestion would be:

Sci-fi cafe in MGM
If you have never been you sit in "drive in movie cars" and you have dinner. Food is standard type fare but it is a cute environment but dark.

I also second all of the above (although I have not been to HDDR, and I hate the food & service at Sci Fi...but the atmosphere is fabulous!)

We also like Donald's Breakfastsaurous. Like the food service and character interaction. If either one likes the "Pooh & friends", then do Crytal Palace.

We always do Whispering Canyon (It is usually me and my DS13) and Donald's. This time we are also doing Chef mickey's. He also likes SciFi and 50's Prime Time

we love rainforest cafe in dtd

My 11 year old son loves Planet Hollywood. I think he would really like Rainforest Cafe - maybe we will try it this year.

WCC in WL

Liberty Tree Tavern in MK

Ohana Character B'fast in Poly

Looking at all the posts, it doesn't seem like your decision will be any easier. Evryone has their own favorites. My personal favorite is Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. Not only is the food really good, but it is a really fun place, very informal, and loud.

We've done Chef Mickeys for breakfast AND for Dinner...either one was excellent! If they enjoy the "main" Disney characters - this is the one to do. Also LTT is excellent too...Mickey is not at this one though.

**Question - is Chef Mickey's the only one Mickey does???

Nope.

Mickey stars with Chip 'n Dale and Pluto at The Garden Grill at The Land in Epcot.
(Another excellent character meal!)

And "the Mick" is also with Donald, Goofy, and others at DAK for Breakfastosaurus.

Mickey is also at Liberty Tree Tavern, isnt he? if not all the other "classic" characters are

liberty tree tavern was great!

I'd put in a vote for Chef Mickey's at CR. We had a bad experience at Whispering Canyon, based on our server and where we were sitting. Mickey's was a bit more under control but you got all the "first-tier" characters in one sitting.

Don't forget my favorite character breakfast - 'Ohana at the Poly. Mickey, Goofy, Lilo and Stitch. We had a table of 6 with two little ones. I find it really nice to have the food brought to my table rather than getting up and down to head to the buffet. I have scheduled Chef Mickey's this time though for something new. I haven't been to CM since 1996.

I vote for O'hana's for breakfast & Chef Mickey's for dinner. A little tip, for more character interaction, get a later seating. A Diser told me this before our last trip. We got early reservations for O'hana's, saw all of the characters once (& had to wait 15 minutes after we finished eating to see Lilo). Chef Mickey's, we had a late reservations. The characters were at our table probably 4 times each! Less people, the faster they make it around to you. Sbella
