Best resort for 5 adults/trying to save some money

Poly, VGF and Riviera have the best layouts for 5 in a studio - the murphy beds are comfortable and the split baths are not the same as 2 full baths, but - there are 2 showers, 2-3 sinks, and 1 toilet.

AFAIK these are the only studios that sleep 5 in murphys (as opposed to own bedding or pullout couch) *and* can have 2 people showering at the same time.

I'd consider the Caribbean Beach 5th sleeper rooms in this discussion.

We stayed at Caribbean Beach a couple months ago and the pull down bed fit my 6 year old well but would have been tight for our 10 year old. I wouldn’t recommend it for an adult. It was pretty small.

It's 64 inches tall, so you must have a large 10 year old. The DVC 5th beds are larger than this, though.

I know this photo was cropped, I took it trying to get the kid in the pic more than the bed. You can kind of see where the mattress curves in at the bottom. Looks shorter than 64 inches but doesn’t matter, just thought It would be a squeeze for an adult.

I also vote for AoA suite, you are on the Skyliner for 2 parks, and 2 full bathrooms. 5 adults in a studio is pretty squishy. I like AoA myself, we have stayed there many times (we are a low DVC point family).

As for the fold down beds, some are better than others, I have slept on them fine several trips and I am 5'5" and not petite. But some have nice thick newer mattreses and some are super thin (we just use done at BCV, it was thin not a thick regular mattress).

AOA family suites are pricey for what they are and as adults only, are you good with in your face theming?

I like the suggestion of 2 studios if you are looking at a dvc rental personally.

I agree the Poly seems the best fit for OP’s needs, although realistically there’s no studio that will comfortably fit 5 adults + their luggage IMO, but I like my space & am likely biased in that regard.
To clarify, the Poly bathroom areas aren’t 2 full bathrooms, there is one room w/ a toilet, sink, & shower/tub combo & another room w/ a sink + shower.
Agree, I felt cramped in a poly studio with my husband and preteen, but we are used to 1brs. There was almost no storage. I was stacking my kid‘s clothes in the shelves in the bathroom vanity. I can’t imagine 5 adults and their luggage staying in that room.
Old key west has huge 1BRs and should be the cheapest points wise. BLT and AKL Kidani have nice 1brs with 2 full baths.
Otherwise, I would look at staying offsite at Wyndham Bonnet Creek or Reunion Resort where there will be tons of space.

If cost is important to you, two studios will cost less than a 1BR villa. A 2BR villa is almost 3X the cost of a studio.
I just picked a week in mid. Dec for Kidani. a standard studio is 76, a 1 bedroom is 151, a 2 bedroom is 195. Just to show some numbers.

I can not see 5 grown people in a studio. Will any one need a scooter.? They eat up a lot of space.

And then of course, who gets a real bed, who gets the sofa. And not to dismiss the full kitchen and washer dryer in room with bigger villas.

I too agree with Poly - but with 5 adult women I would request connecting studios and get two villas. We had these once and it slept 6 adults and 3 children (one in a pack and play) just fine. You get two queens, two queen Murphy beds and two pull down twin size beds. Also in the bathroom you’d get four showers, four sinks and two toilets this way. We toured the refurb earlier this month and the Murphy bed situation is so much nicer then any sofa bed out there. My teens agree and will not stay at any resort without them now.

The only other studios right now that have Murphy beds are Riviera but that’s $$$ and hard to get and Saratoga which would be the cheapest but they wouldn’t be connecting.

I would strongly compare the price of 1 Standard Poly Studio vs 2 Standard Saratoga Spring Studios. It may be closer than you think plus that puts 5 adults with plenty of space right next to Disney Springs for many additional activities and fun.

Similarly, random week in September, I got it as 174 for two Poly studios, 125 for an OKW 1BR, 170 for an OKW 2BR (!), 128 for two SSR studios. 174 for an AKV Standard 1BR, as well.

If you're paying for 170 points anyway, a 2BR at OKW is going to be gigantic with 5, and everyone will get a real bed (because you're already assumed sharing in 2 Poly studios anyway).

These are all great ideas! Trip won't be til next May so we do have some time, I'm just trying to put all the budgeting together for them so we can figure out splitting, etc (one is getting married this fall, other is getting married 2024 so budgeting will be key for us). Thank you all so much! Two studios looks like it might be the best bet both money- and space-wise so I'm making some inquiries now :)

Are you all comfortable being in the same room? Does anyone snore?
Our next trip is 4 adults and we are getting a 2 bdroom because sometimes it's better to have a door between sleeping spaces.
People can get cranky without adequate sleep
