Best recent Disneyland "movie" to get them excited.

We will be taking a few people with kids 12 and 8. They have never been. I remember we used to always watch A Day at Disneyland to prep us before a trip. Even up to now I watch them. But most of the park has changed and I know the differences, but I don't want them to get excited about something in Yesterland.

Has Disney recently done a video similar to that that they can enjoy.

I know there are youtube videos they can watch, but it's just so much better with Snow White narrating, or hearing Goofy's voice talking.

Thanks.

I’m not sure about videos like that, but I would always watch Classic Disney movies, and newer ones so I could understand a lot of the rides and references made at the parks!

Also a few months ago, I went with a friend who had never been to Disneyland. My other friend made this Disney playlist with all the songs from movies...she said it got her into the Disney spirit!

Some recent sitcoms have been- Modern Family comes to mind.

My kids always loved the DVD Sing Along Songs- Disneyland Fun. It’s older though. Early 1990s. Not recent, but still fun.

Yes, Disney Sing A Long Songs has a Disneyland one. As mentioned, its older--1990 or maybe 1989. That being said, I don't think it shows anything from Yesterland, so it *should* be good. However, certain things look different, like the boats for Jungle Cruise, and Winnie the Pooh. I guess Tom Sawyer Island is different--it still shows climbing into the tree house.

For our kids/grandkids, they know the movie was made when Mom/Gram was young, so things look a little different, but most things look mostly the same. At 8 and 12, the kids on your trip are plenty old enough to understand that concept as well.

Haven't seen anything more recent than that DVD.

When planning you can access a bunch of short videos through the disneyland website, my kids loved them...

We started planning a year out and have watched almost every animated disney film made, this has been fun, and a great build up to the trip...

My kids love watching this. I grew up on it and decided to take a chance showing it to my kids. They sing all the songs and ask me why some of the attractions looked so different back then...and they love making fun of the early 90s clothes.

We watch a lot of youtube videos of the rides and shows. I wish Disney would make a new promotional video, but I think in the age of the Internet, that's probably not terribly likely. There was a show that I know was on Netflix right before Carsland opened. I don't remember what it was called. When we took my oldest for the first time, we watched that one. It was a lot of behind the scenes stuff. I think it was the "Disney Parks series" or something like that.

We always watch Travel Channel Disneyland: Behind the Scenes before a trip. The California Adventure part is a bit outdated but it's still a wonderful show to watch.
