Best rate for AKL????

Just wondering what was the best rate anyone received for AKL? I was just viewing the video and it looks nice. I tend to stay at the value because I like getting the dining plan but if I could get a good rate....maybe!

I just got $120/night (annual passholder rate) for a standard view room for this weekend, Jan.26-30.

I paid $120 a night in Fall 04 for a pool view room with a general code. In Fall 05 I paid $155 a night for pool view and got a suprise savannah upgrade. Note both of these rates are w/o the 11.5% tax.

i got 109 a night ap discount for next week 1/24 until 1/27 but i ended up having to cancel the trip - but it was a grreat rate

1.5 years ago (end of Oct.), I paid $124/night (FL rate) for a standard and was uprgraded to a fantastic savanna view. Last May, we paid $135/night (AP rate) for one night in a standard and $165/night for the following 7 days in a savanna view.

Thanks, that doesn't sound bad. However, we are going in July. I am guessing the rates are different then?

Wow - I checked rates for 2/22 to 2/25 and the AP rate was $327. For 2 rooms (two families) for the three days the WL was 600 cheaper. Too bad as the 3yr old DGS would have loved the annimals I think.

In 2003, I got a rate (not AP or FL resident) of $120, including tax. AND got upgraded to a Savannah view!!!

Were these upgrades given during value/off seaon season period, like Sept? Were they requested by you at check-in or just given?
I'm wondering whether if i book standard what chances that they'll give me a free upgrade to savannah view (for last week in Sept). Between standard and savannah for late Sept dates its about $400 difference, or $300 difference between stnd water/pool view and savannah.

Yes they do work for deluxe rooms at AKL.

I received an upgrade in September from standard to savannah. I asked if any upgrades were available- may have used the word "complimentary", but can't remember. It never hurts to ask !

We just came back from staying at the AKL. We booked a savanna view room with an AP discount and keep in mind Jan is value season. The rate including the tax was $210 and change a night. This is the most we have ever paid for a savanna view room with an AP discount. So I would expect July to be more expensive then the $210 as I believe that is regular season, but I am not 100% sure.
