I believe the staff at Tropicana mentioned some King rooms do have a balcony, and that we should call for those sort of requests. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a pretty good view. Its at the same height (maybe a tiny bit higher) than the monorail tracks, and the fireworks are high enough that there shouldn't be anything in the way.It looks like Tropicana has a "Disney Executive Suite" with a private balcony, but I can't find any pictures of what the view is like. It looks like it is only 2-3 stories so probably not as good as the one we got next door at the Courtyard. Would you recommend Park Vue strongly over Tropicana? They look like they will work out to about the same price during our dates given the executive suite upgrade.
As far as PVI vs Trop rooms, I have to say I like Trop more after their recent reno! The Jacuzzi suite at PVI was fine, but hubs and I aren't "small" people (I was 5'3" and 180# or so, and Hubs was 5'9" and 225#), and that Jacuzzi was a bit squished. We used it only 2 out of 4 nights we were there because the proportions just didn't work well for our body shapes.
