Best places to view parades?

We have been to the parks multiple times since my oldest DS was born. We usually miss the parades but this year I am bound and determined to see them. My youngest DS is a huge fan of all the characters but especially the princesses. I am dying to have him see the parades before girls get to the yucky stage. This being said, I was hoping to get a list of where people think the best viewing for the various parades are? Places where we can get good character interaction. Also about how far in advance should I stake out a spot? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Just 12 days to go!

We've always had good luck in Frontierland. We stay in front of the shops/shooting gallery area. It isn't as congested there. DS3 loves characters and quite a few of the walking ones came up and shook his hand or tapped him on the head. One of the reindeer during the Christmas parade even licked him!

Any more? I am really interested in spots for AK and MGM.

MGM has always been the hardest parade for us to get a good spot, but I refuse to wait more than 30 mins. for a spot so it's my fault. If I had to pick a good one it might be over by Brown Derby. It's shady under the trees, and there's not a lot of room for crowding.
AK parade is easy to get a spot. We watch it in Harambe, if you miss it at first, it comes back around, maybe with less of a crowd.

I've really only seen Spectro and SADCT, but my favorite spots for these are the same- in front of the Barber Shop on Main Street. I have been able to get this spot with less then 20 minutes wait- and this was during the summer and on 1 Spectro nights back in the beginning of January.
