We have never been to Disney before and are planning a trip for Christmas. We are not getting the dining plan but was wondering what you would recommend as a must see? I have a nine year old boy and 5 year old girl. The breakfast with the princesses looks like something my daughter would love. Also would like to plan something for my son and some fun stops for the whole family.

I would suggest trying Sci-Fi Dine In at MGM. You sit at make belief cars at a drive in and the servers come to you on roller skates. It is great fun! Also at MGM there is 50's Prime Time Cafe. Here you sit at a mock kitchen table and the servers will ask you to go wash your hands first! They will then test your kids by asking them what colour (sorry color!) the soap is. Again, great fun with kids. Make sure you emptym your plates!
You could buy a guide such as Frommers 'unofficial guide' but be aware they will slater the food in their reviews. We have always had good food at WDW restaurants but you can use their guides to give you an idea of each restaurants' theme.
Hope this helps,
Gideon.

Hey MerryMen.. you don't need to appologize for your spelling of "color." I usually write "theatre" or "centre" for example... and I would always lose points for misspelling them.

My boyfriend and I love Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. They have all these crazy antics that they do (like a ketchup call). I also love 'Ohana at the Polynesian Resort, though the service wasn't the best, the food was amazing. They have a these lil things to do for the kids, like coconut races (I think that's what they are called).

Another restaurant that I think is fun, especially if you have kids, is Toy Story Pizza Planet in MGM. It's fast food, pizzas and stuff. It has a huge arcade.

What fun! I hope you all have a great trip. There are 3 princess dinings that you could go to for your daughter: CRT, Norway, or the 1900 Park Faire dinner (Cinderella and Prince Charming are there). For your son (and the whole family), I would recommend Chef Mickey's, CP, or LTT.
