I was wondering if anyone had suggestions about the best place to view the fireworks at 9:25 on a Sunday night, either on-campus or off.

Last time we were wedged in with the masses in front of the castle, and I am not sure if I can do that again.

In front of Small World is a good place. You can see most of the fireworks from there, but not the stuff on the castle or right around it. They used to project a light show onto the facade of Small World. I saw it during the 50th and it was neat. Not sure if they still do that since last time I wedged in front of the castle. It really has the best views.

I have been meaning to post a similar question, but was more concerned about offsite, since we were staying away from the first the weekend, and my son goes to bed early, so if he happens to make it after a nap I didnt want to drag him all the way to the parks. Would love to hear about outside locations.

Thank you, DLtorgo. I just may give it a shot!

Haydeecm: I have heard that there are rooms at HOJO with good fireworks views. Also, I have seen the fireworks from the balcony at DLH while enjoying room service...that was fun. Once, while on the way home, people just started plopping down in the area between the two parks to sit and watch the fireworks, but I don't remember if you get the piped-in sound and if you can see the "extra" stuff.

Right in the middle of main street toward the middle. That way you can get out of the park quicker. At Xmas time you get the "snow" too. To be in the thick of it at Walts statue in front of the castle is fantastic but you have to save your spot early and I dont like to waste time doing that. If you have a non-rider that likes to people watch have that person do this. bring a towel or something to lay down on the ground.

The walkways at the Fairfield also have good viewing but at an angle and no music.

we stayed at the Super 8 Disneyland Drive and were able to see the fireworks from our room. Of course, we didn't realize that until the very last night, lol. While it was a very good view of the fireworks themselves, you do miss out on the music and lights.

If you're looking to avoid crowds, you might try the Main St train station. There are benches on the sides (arrive by at least 9pm to snag one) or you can stand behind the roped off benches in the middle. You cannot stand on the stairways. Due to some large trees, the view is not as good as on Main St or in front of the castle, but it's not bad either. Plus, it make for a quick getaway if your group requires that.
