Best place to meet Mickey?

DH and I are realizing that we are horrible parents who have never taken their kids to meet Mickey at Walt's park! We've done character meals at WDW and been able to walk with him hand-in-hand a few times as he opens Toon Town, but never met him in Town Square or Mickey's house.

So, with that in mind, which location would you recommend? We have DDs 2 and 7, and are looking for the best combo of short line/character interaction. Is one spot preferable to the other? TIA!

I love that the Disneyland app shows the wait time for Mickey's House as an attraction! So you can watch for when it's low rather than stalking Mickey elsewhere. It is fun to walk through Mickey's house, but more fun when there are not many other guests so you can play with everything and push buttons end take pictures on the furniture! Mickey meets at the end of the walk through and apparently has several costume options for this location, but we have only seen him in his black tuxedo with the red pants. In Town Square, he'll be in his 60th Anniversary outfit. On Buena Vista Street in DCA, he wears a 20's newsie style outfit! Minnie's 60th outfit and Buena Vista Street outfit are adorable, too!

Have fun!!

Head to Toontown when it opens (Usually an hour after park opening). Go to his house and he will be out front. You'll be in and out in a few minutes.

Yes, this is what we've done in the past and it's been awesome. So great to not have to wait! But we didn't get to spend much time as we were walking back to the house, and then he quickly sets up for a few autographs. Hoping that if we do it in a set location we'll have a bit more time and interaction with him.

I hadn't noticed Mickey's House as an attraction on the app! Great idea! We've been to Minnie's house a few times and the kids loved it, so I'm sure they will like this too. And how cool that you can check to see what the wait is like!

I do love the outfits on Buena Vista street, they are adorable! But I hate waiting out there. I always seem to want to see the character whose line is in full sun!

We went to Toon Town when it opened on one trip about 3 years ago and I'd say that we were at Mickey's House about 5 min after the Toon Town opening for the day. By that point, Mickey was inside the house. But you won't get several minutes with him. They keep the line moving pretty well. And there was a very small line...maybe 4 families tops.

I've meet Mickey in Town Square and on Buena Vista Street. I would say both of those interactions are fairly similar. I didn't feel rushed, but it was not a super long interaction. He signed the autograph book and posed for photos with the kids. For my family, it was mostly a matter of which outfit we wanted Mickey to be wearing (e.g., 60th or season in Town Square, 20s/30s on Buena Vista Street, or classic/films in Toontown).

We saw Mickey leaving as the park was closing around 12 one night , at CA in a gazebo, near Big Thunder BBQ in cowboy clothes, and at his house. All were during spring break and his house was the longest wait of about 20 mins

If you are interested in going to a character breakfast, Surf's Up Breakfast Buffet at the Paradise Pier has Mickey for one of the characters, (and my favourite, Stitch).

We have met him a few times at his house - that was a great interaction - also on Buena Vista Street but that is not the classic Mickey since he's dressed in 1920s clothing. The Surf's Up breakfast is by far the best - we love it - he is around the entire time, he dances and takes pictures and its just a great experience and would be especially great for younger kids.
