Best place to buy Northface

DD wants a NF jacket for Christmas. She likes the "furry" coat. They are so pricey so I figured I would see if there was a better place to order from or somewhere that would have a deal on them coming up.

I would be interested in knowing also. I got a good deal at MooseJaw once during a sale but haven't seen any good sales on NF lately.

NorthFace is one of those companies that have standard pricing no matter where you shop and discounts or mark-downs are rare. MooseJaw used to offer free shipping as well as gift cards, etc... for other merchandise. You may also have luck buying from e-bay. Some stores sell new merchandise from NF cheaper than you'd find at stores/online.

Just tossing out a different, more budget friendly option. Would a Columbia fleece work instead?

We were going to let DD get a Northface jacket a couple of years ago, but, we wanted her to try one on first. She actually didn't like it, perhaps it was "too heavy" for her. She much preferred the Columbia jacket instead. At the store we were at - the Columbia was either $25 or $30, the Northface was over $100, plus the store we were at that Black Friday allowed couplns to be used on the Columbia, but not the Northface.

Although - I do need to come clean - this didn't "save" us anything, Santa picked up a pair of Uggs slipper-things that she was eyeing up.

I have ordered from sunnysports.com more than once. They have legit stuff. Their jackets don't appear the be on sale right now, but they have been in the past. Keep checking back. They ship really fast too.

Nordstrom.com had the Osito (furry, no hood) on sale last week for 20% off, including black. They are not on sale this week, but you might keep checking there to see if they go on sale again. They have free shipping and free returns.

We have gotten North Face at Moosejaw on Black Friday - it seems that they were not on sale, but they offered a gift card with purchase. I would sign up for Moosejaw e-mails if you don't get them.

When Macy's has their VIP sale a few times a year, it has very few exclusions. I bought a NF coat at 20% off during the last one.

A friend of mine was at a NorthFace outlet in Woodbury Common (NY) last weekend, and was raving about some of the deals she found. Don't know if you have one nearby, but it's worth looking into...

I purchased my youngest DD one from Campmor thanks to suggestions from this board. I got my oldest DD one from Costco right before Halloween. Good deals on both!

I got mine from Geartrade.com. It was a return from Backcountry, but it still had the tags on and was in great condition. For a coat that was normally $280, I got it for less than $70!!! I LOVE it!!!

It's the triclimate (3in1) coat that has the furry inside. It's called the Boundary. The inside shed a lot when I first got it but it seems to be levelling out now.

ETA - your daughter is right - that furry coat is AWESOME!!! warm but not bulky, and man, it's like slipping on the softest material ever! It's even stayed soft after washing. (DD has the same one in kids size, called Athena, or something like that... this is it's 2nd year, and the pile on the fuzzy liner has stayed just like the day we got it!)

Marshalls had the Northface Osito last week in a green shade only for $59. DD actually picked a furry type Columbia over the Northface. She hasn't taken it off since, I worry she will need something warmer when winter really hits though.

I just pre bought one at Macy's using the Friends and Family that starts Dec 4th. Supposedly my Macy's at least gets crazy and they fight over the North face. So they let you do a "presale" through the personal shopper. I picked one out, got 25% off and it will hit my credit card on Dec 4th and I can pick it up on or after Dec 4th.

I was just at Marshall's today and saw in the Mens section a gray North Face fleece jacket on clearance for $39 the tag had said $99...I'm now wishing I would have bought it...if my ds wouldn't have worn it I could have! They also had a blue womens one I think for $79 but it wasn't fleece, more like a thicker type coat. Lots of mens winter North Face hats for $16.99.

I actually hit up the TJ Maxx (as I was closer to it) and nothing I will be near the Marshalls tomorrow so I will check them out and hope for a great deal

I got my Northface at Macys last year during Friends and Family. I will say that the NF coat was absolutely worth the money. I had always worn the Columbia ones before, but they don't hold a candle to NF as far as warmth and durability.
