As looking a few weeks ago and found a website that I could pay on arrival but now can't find it :-(

Anyone know what websites do this

Direct? If you book anywhere else make sure you can cancel and rebook with no fee, Universal sometimes lower prices from time to time so you don't want to be tied in (unless you find a bargain)

Can you book and pay at hotel with universal though? That's what I wanted to do really

I was lookimg on their site yesterday and nothing would be charged at booking, total payable upon check in.

Oh really it kept telling me it would take one night as deposit and as we were only staying one night was full payment

That's what I did, IIRC it was 1 night deposit then balance at check in but check on their site for latest.
If you post dates and best price we can help find better.

Ah that might be a problem then, as my previous post I think that's the case.

Direct would be £206 for a room at RPR for 4 adults, a bit high.

AP rate is £156 for a room at any of the 3 hotels, probably not worth getting for 2 rooms at RPR but 2 rooms at PBH could be worth 1 of you buying an AP.

Somewhere like Expedia is same price but you would get cashback at 13% and you can cancel upto a few days before you arrive. upfront payment though.

I think hotels4u do a £1 deposit but not sure when the rest is payable.

One thing I have noticed is that once you hit 4 night stays the prices become much more reasonable.

Our prices (so far, haven't booked) for next August are looking like £556 for 3 nights for one room (yikes), or £559 for 4 nights!!! I would love to book 4 nights but a) we have now booked WDW for the 4th night arrival and to cancel a night is going to cost us and b) we'd have to buy a more expensive park ticket, which from what I can see is quite a bit more to get us that extra day!

I think I need to look into it a bit more, but am going to leave until much nearer the time, at least I'll get into 2015, unless a bargain appears, but I can't see it in early August !

We have booked the PBH with Thomas Cook, we are staying there for 4 nights in August for £127.50 per night.
Edit - Paid upfront.

I have never booked a room only without some sort of deposit for US hotels and with it being only one night I am guessing you will probably end up paying in full up front.

Most hotel companies in america will want a deposit. I find traveling alot that the Uk does that also. But I prefer to pay up front in america cause you know exactly what the rate is when you book. If the rate is high for us then book it as you will save. It may not be as high when you travel. Also most hotels you have to pay a local tax too when you get there. Unless its included into the up front room rate. I booked mine through quidco and booking.com, like you only wanted the 1 night so have now paid for it. One less thing to worry about when we are over there

I am interested in this as well.
I'm going to WDW for the marathon week end and I have booked SSR (my home resort) for 2 weeks, but I'm wondering if I should cancel the last 3 nights and book Cabana Bay. I've never stayed in the Universal resort and the new hotel looks really nice.
My target dates are 14/1 to 17/1.
Looking at the website I can book them for 135$ per night, but it doesn't look like a good price. These are days between NYE and the Martin Luther King week end, so should be very low season, I would expect some good offer along the way. Do they have a mailing list for offers or should I just stalk the website?

Hi,

I booked one night at Loews Royal Pacific Resort @ Universal for 1 night in September. No deposit was needed and I had the option of pay now or pay at the hotel. I have chosen the pay at hotel.

Have looked on Expedia for your dates & requirements, and you have the following prices:

Loews Royal Pacific Resort - total price £380
Loews Portofino Bay Hotel - total price £455

These are showing that they can be booked now, paid later.

If booked via Quidco (8% cash back for hotel bookings atm) the prices would then be:

Loews Royal Pacific Resort - total price £349.60
Loews Portofino Bay Hotel - total price £418.60

Hope this helps :thumbsup2

Where did you book? Ive gone on this and it doesnt give me the option to pay later

I have booked a deluxe room for 2 nights at Hard Rock Hotel for £438 with 5.5% cashback. 2 nights for 5 people that was through Hotels4U. x
