Okay, so my family and I are going to Disney (staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins) from Oct. 30 - Nov 5th. We are going to Magic Kingdom on Halloween (also attending the Mickeys Not So Scarey Halloween party) and currently have a lunch reservation at the Crystal Palace on that day. But we also planned on going back to Magic Kingdom on thursday to finish whatever we didn't get to do on monday. Thursday night is the Hoop Dee Doo Revue so we didn't want to start a new theme park on that day. Anyways, now we are thinking of doing breakfast at Crystal Palace on thursday instead - so that means we need to cancel our lunch reservation on monda and pick a new lunch place.........any suggestions?? How far away is Chef Mickeys breakfast buffet from Magic Kingdom? We were thinking of doing that for breakfast on thursday, but if that means traveling from FW Cabins to someplace far away, back to Magic Kingdom, and then back to FW for Hoop Dee Doo then maybe not a great idea to waste so much of the day traveling to & from places.......

We do have the dining plan & looking for a 1 credit lunch. Thanks for any suggestions!!!!!!!

Chef Mickey's is a monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom. Chef Mickey's is at the Contemporary. The ride over is about 10 minutes or so. To get from FW, you could take the bus to the Magic Kingdom, hop on the monorail and head to Chef Mickey's. You could also do the Ohana character breakfast at the Poly, which you would also be able to get to on the monorail to head to the Magic Kingdom.

If you want to eat lunch inside Magic Kingdom, I would recommend either Liberty Tree Tavern or Tony's, since you're already eating breakfast at Crystal Palace.

My husband and I really enjoyed our lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern during our trip in 09/04. We didn't even have reservations, but we arrived just before 3.

If you are doing QS, I'd suggest Cosmic Rays.

btw, we love HDDR!!

Have a great trip!

Chef Mickeys is in the Contemporary, walking distance from MK.
So you could take the boat from FW to MK and just walk.

Are you on the DDP? If you are, I'd suggest Tony's or LTT too if you're not wanting to leave MK. If you're not on the DDP, we really loved Plaza, but it's so cheap I wouldn't waste a TS credit on it. It's definitely better as an OOP meal IMO.

this is an excellent forum to know everything about DisneyLand. I plan to go there and being a part of this forum, i have learned so much where to get which stuff etc.

I would recommend staying inside the Magic Kingdom and making an ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern.

I agree 80%... the other 20% = Tony's. It seems that a lot of people don't like Tony's, but I've had lunch there, several times over the years, and have never had a bad meal....

CM is very close to the MK and lots of fun! But if you are looking to get all the time you can out of the MK that day, I would suggest eating in the park. If you want TS, LTT and Plaza have convenient locations. If you want CS, try Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill's.

We love eating at the Plaza- excellent sandwiches and shakes. It doesn't take too long and it's a lovely restaurant. :thumbsup2

exactly - again wonderful experience at both LTT and Plaza this Jan/Feb..

the PLAZA was very calm/relaxing... and a good option if you truly want a respite IMO..

Liberty Tree Tavern! The lunch menu is great, we love the pot roast and the burgers. Nice atmosphere too.

I went to Tony's in August 2010 for dinner with some friends of mine and thought it was good.

The Plaza... I love The Plaza. DS5 loves the plaza, DN9 loves the plaza. My sis, my mom, my dad, love The Plaza. Great sandwiches. DS5 got a plate of mini chocolate chip cookies and milk in a tea cup for dessert. He loved it.

Tonys for table service, cosmic rays for counter service. The chicken at c.r . is really goood and theres alot of food

To the OP -- there is a boat from FW that goes a circular route from FW to Wilderness Lodge and to Contemporary and back, all day. This is in addition to the boat that just goes from FW to MK and back all day. Sometimes it goes FW to Contemporary to WL then back to FW and other times FW to WL then Contemporary then back to FW.

We love taking the boat to the Contemporary for CM buffet! It is a smaller boat and a really pleasant ride when the weather is nice out.
