I know how he feels I have had this fear all my life. I can't tell you why but fireworks and ballons do me in. My DS is 12 and has autism and he also has sensory issues with fireworks but loves to watch them so we take the monorail or ferry to the ticket and transportation hub and watch the fireworks down where the gates are for the ferry. It is a awesome spot to see them!!! you can still hear them but they aren't hurt your ears loud. Every kid is different it is what makes them special sometimes there is no explanation for it.
