Best option for food purchase

This weekend, a poster on the DVC Community Board posted about snacks and coffee being taken from her checked luggage in December, so I'd say packing food in checked luggage is out. Packing stuff in your carry on sounds like a good idea, then you have room for souvenirs on the way home ;)

Does anyone know if the Hess store sells Pepsi products? Or do they only sell Coke products?

Karen

As of 3-13-05...only coke.

I had no idea that they did this.

Congrautualtions on your upcoming wedding. Thats so neat that you both have boys. Are they close in age?
They're 14 and 11. My son has autism and mentally around 7. His son always wanted a big brother and has no problem if he has to help my son out sometimes. We've dated for almost 11 years so they basically grew up together.

You can also pack up a box and UPS it to yourself c/o the Front Desk at your resort. I do this all the time.....just write on the front of the box your check in date and they will have it for you at check in. UPS website has prices and timeframes for mailing. Saves the trouble of lugging extra stuff through the airport. It usually costs me between $10 and $15 to send stuff. I pack coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, couple different cereals (I take out of the boxes
and put maybe half a box in Ziplocs to save space) Last time I even sent a few packages of those easy make Betty Crocker muffins (just add water) and
foil muffin pans. I figure even with the cost of shipping if I get all the stuff at home when it's on sale it's still less than buying at Disney.

Connie- Thats great. 11 years is a long time to date. Will your honeymoon be in Disney? It's so good to hear about happy endings.

My DH found the Hess minmart right outside BWV very convenient and economical. DH is a walker but he said it was not a long walk. Milk, water and snacks were very reasonable as was the beer! :cloud9:

This was an excellent idea. I spent $30 on 4 beers the 1st two days I was here (BWV). Walked across the street to Hess's and bought a 12 pack of Coronas (and .89 lime) for $15, a 1 litre Diet Coke and water for $1.50 each.

I'm one who doesn't mind paying the 12 bucks for delivery from Garden Grocer. We've used them several times now with no issues and they will also deliver alcohol if you put it in your special request section. Saves any extra packing or trips to the store. In a one bedroom we tend to order bottled water, snacks, cereal, milk, etc. and it just makes life sooo much easier (and cheaper) than getting it on property.

We've used wegoshop.com 6 times and I highly recommend them. I am a water drinker, and we save the cost of delivery on the water alone. It is $2.50 a bottle at Disney.
I buy juice, coffee, fruit, water, soda, beer and wine, cheese and crackers, chips and salsa etc. We don't cook on vacation either, but like to have breakfast and snacks and beverages.
Enjoy

We usually take family or friends with us so wegoshop is a God-send! It saves us so much time, and we have never had a problem getting what we wanted. Like other posters have said, be specific in what you want though. They even got us some deals last time with some BOGO's and some really great fresh fruit and veggies! :thumbsup2

As to why WDW sells only Coke, I am sure they have some sort of deal with Coca Cola, but we were told by a CM a long time ago that: "Mickey only drinks Coke!" :lmao: I am a Coke person myself, but I just love Diet Mt Dew like a PP and have to get wegoshop to pick it up for me. :woohoo:

Have a fantastic time! :dance3:

I've done a 1 day car rental from Enterprise(they pick up and bring back) over a weekend for the grocery and church. The price was very reasonable, and I got what I wanted.
