Best Music Concert You've Seen?

Ozzy with Metallica as the opener back in 1986.

I can't believe they have not been mentioned:

You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best.....KISS!!!

Ted Nugent opened for them. Best stage show I have ever seen.

Others that I really enjoyed:
Jethro Tull Aqulaung and StormWatch
The Kinks
Styx
Rush
Power Station
The Who
and of course
Elton John about 6 or 7 times.

I am so happy to see fellow Bon Jovi lovers. I thought I would be the only one. They always put on a great show. I have seen them many times over the past almost 20 years but my favorite concert was from last year's Bounce Tour at Gillette Stadium. I got seventh row seats and between the rain and the thunder and lightning it was a wild night for sure. Jon does get better with age. I can't believe I still have as big a crush on him now at 33 as I did when I was 13! I guess my tastes are consistent.

My all time favorite concert is KISS. Have seen them many times, but the one this past July was AWSOME! Right at the stage. Couldn't hear good or talk for several days.

Also on my list would have to be:
AC/DC
Metallica
Judas Priest (first ever concert)
Ozzy
Meat Loaf

There's just so many good ones...ha ha

I have to agree! I love Rush, going to see them on their 30th anniversary Tour in 11 days! Taking DS11 for second Rush concert.

Rush has always been great when I have seen them. I just love Alex Lifeson.

Eric Clapton has been amazing evertime I have seen him too.

Jimmy Buffet is always a good time.

And Genesis was incredible, I was never a big genesis fan until I went to see them. I saw them at RFK Stadium in DC and we sat on the Field, the sound was great, Phil Collins is hilarious.

EDITED TO ADD - I almost forgot, I saw Hot TUna at a small club in DC. Papa John Creech played with them. Amazing. That is all I can say about that show.

Bob Dylan-1995 (I think) at RFK in D.C., opening for the Dead.

I was at that show, Dylan was great, especially the HWY 61 Revisited. That song blew me away, and I am not a big Dylan fan.

Jimmy Buffet is so fun to see! the atmosphere is so incredible. I saw him in Williamsburg twice! It's so hard to stay sober at that concert, though!

Pugdog - that's my song "the skin I'm in is alright with me" I sing it to myself when I am feeling old lol. I listen to BJ everyday - nice to see other fans.

Me too! Love that song! Wondered if anyone would know catch it (knowing only a true BJ fan would).

"Well I look in the mirror... I don't hate what I see... there's a few more lines staring back at me... and the nights... have grown a little bit colder."

They did not bring Bounce to AL. So I purchased 10th row seats on Richie's side (off of ebay) and flew to see them in Toronto.

AWESOME!

Same here and I'm 35! I can hide my obsession behind my 16 yo DD. Of course, the tix were for her birthday. And the mounted poster in her BR... also her idea... right?

Love Bon Jovi and can't wait until another tour! And the great thing about age... now I can afford the good seats!

;)

Back in the early 90's my then boyfriend and now dh, wanted to see Pete Townsend. I really didn't want to go, but I went and that was the best concert to this date that I have seen. It was at the Tower in Philadelphia and it was fantastic. I have been to a few concerts in my "young" life including Pink Floyd, The Who, The Stones, Clapton, CSN, U2, but I have to say that Pete blew me away. Shortly after that I saw him again up at the Paramount for a charity concert with Annie Lennox and someone else and he just played piano and again he blew me away, he is a genius.

I think I'm older than most posters, so this may not mean much to most of you. But I got to see The Band in 1976 on their final tour, in what I think was their last stop. So I saw the final show of one of the greatest bands in the history of rock and roll. (They got together for a farewell concert, and Martin Scorsese documented it in the movie Last Waltz. But I don't have to count that one if I don't want to.)

It was an outdoors show at Milwaukee's summer music festival. It was a perfect day, the tickets were $4, and I sat 10th row center. They played for 3-4 hours, and it was incredible.

I'm not ashamed to say that I have only seen two concerts in my life. The first one was Jimi Hendrix on June 13, 1970 in Baltimore, MD and the second was the Allman Brothers two years ago in Virginia Beach, VA.

Which was better, only the Shadow knows.

You may not have quantity on your side, but those sure were some quality events!

Wow!!! My jealousy can not be measured. I love The Band. Loved Rick Danko. One of the greatest songs ever= "It Makes No Difference" . $4, unbelieveable.

I have 2: Beck at some bar in DC (think it was called the 9:30 club)....and at Lolapalooza with Soundgarden & Metallica, you could hear a pin drop when Soundgarden came out & the first few notes of "pretty noose" echoed around, I got gooseybumps... ::yes::

BBRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCEEEEE!!
And my first concert...Clapton with Derek and the Dominoes at the Fillmore East in NYC.....Terrific !!

Jackson Browne's solo accoustic concert was the best. DH surprised me with the tickets 4 months after DS4 was born. He cut out any reference to JB's concert for a month before from the newspaper so I wouldn't know he was coming (JB is my fav), contacted someone he knew at the concert hall, tricked me into going downtown for something else, and paraded me into the concert hall into FRONT ROW CENTER seats. The concert was fabulous, and it was one of the nicest things DH ever did for me.

George Winston puts on a wonderful music presentation, not really a show, but great music. I've seen him perform twice.

Cher, what else can ya say about the ole broad-she rocks!

Tina Turner-need I say anything?

My top 5 would be:

5. Paul Revere and the Raiders - EPCOT 2003. Funny group with great oldies. Their lead singer Carl is a Babe!

4 Tie. Little Anthony and the Imperials - Boston State College 1967. It was held in the recreation building. We sat on the floor right in front of the stage. I love their music!
The Animals - As a teen our group had a theme song. It was We've got to get out of this place. The Animals played a small club here in 1967 and all of us were there. When they sang this song we went nuts!

3. The Everly Brothers - South Shore Music Circus 2001. Five rows from the stage. They sang all their greatest hits and ended the concert with my favorite of all their songs, Walk Right Back.

2. The Beatles - Shea Stadium, New York 1965. A day/night trip to the World's Fair and then their concert that night. Wow, what a happening. Terrible seats but we got to see Ed Sullivan too! :p I was only 16 at the time and I still can't believe my parents let me go on a tour by myself. I sure glad they did!

1. Brenda Lee - City Hall Plaza, Boston. 1999 ? There was just something about 50,000 people singing Rockin Around the Christmas Tree in the middle of July that I'll never forget. :teeth:
She's still got a great voice and seemed to be having as much fun as the audience.
