Best Music Concert You've Seen?

Best concert probably no one has heard of: CJ Chenier in a tent at the National Fold Festival. Band played Cajun style music, and people were dancing everywhere. His dad is famous too.

Other one would be No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom tour. The band was tight, and Gwen would have a lot of crowd interaction. I've always liked their fast paced music.

Elton John, 1999 (no band just him and his piano. Roanoke VA first night of the tour, 3 hours long, 1 Diet Coke break)

Live/Counting Crows 2001...Live is awsome...Counting Crows I didnt really know at the time but a good show in an awsome Va Beach amphitheater.

I would say Queen was definitely the best I ever saw.

Elton John a close second.

Have seen Rush 5 or 6 times and never disappointed.

Rush was voted band of the year in my high school grad. class - 1986. Neil Peart = greatest drummer of all time. Also heard Rush is on a comeback.

The Boss at the Meadowlands 1985, First time I ever felt a Stadium Start to Bounce.

Eric Clapton, First and Last Time I saw Layla played Live.

Eagles, Heart, and Little River Band, at Meadowlands.

Berlin Philharmonic - Chicago - 1986. Among others, they played Beethoven's 7th Symphony. Incredible! :D

I'd rather select my "oddist" show - Foghat in a bar at Daytona Beach Spring Break 1987. It was $11 all you could drink for 5 hours and included Foghat playing about 2 feet in front of you with full stadium speakers. I believe the bar was called "Finkys" - got to see Eddie Money on the beach that spring break too.

Oingo Boingo - the farewell concert, October 31, 1995. Three hours of nonstop great music. A great show, but sad to say farewell to one of the greatest bands ever. How I miss them every Halloween! Good thing they put the concert (well, most of it) out on DVD!

I'd also have to say that the two Roger Waters concerts I've been to (Radio KAOS and In The Flesh) were spectacular. What an amazing performer he is.

Carole King, in Montreal, probably about 20 years ago. She was so completely into the show. She did not want to leave the stage and it showed. Many concerts before and since, but that one always stands out in my mind.

hmm, I've been to lots of concerts. A few of my favorites:

Jerry Garcia Band-1992 at The Warfield in San Francisco

Grateful Dead, June of 1990. Deer Creek Amp, Noblesville IN
Grateful Dead, May of 1993. Sam Boyd Silver Bowl, Las Vegas, NV. Sting opened for the Dead & "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic" was perfect!
Countless other Dead shows

A bunch of Widespread Panic shows.

Neil Young-summer 2001 at Riverbend in Cincinnati, OH

Steely Dan-summer 2001 at Riverbend in Cincinnati, OH

Elton John-1999 at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati. Just him & his piano. Amazing.

Bob Dylan-1995 (I think) at RFK in D.C., opening for the Dead. Coincidentally, one of the worst concerts I've seen was Bob Dylan in 1989 at UK (U of Kentucky).

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones - June 28, 2004.

I've seen scores of concerts, but from the second they stepped out on stage, my jaw was on the floor. Those guys can PLAY.

Close second: Gov't Mule at the Worcester Aud. Warren Haynes is the most underappreciated musician in rock.
I still think he'll be seen as a legend some day.

Lots of Todd Rundgren concerts-the Central Park ones were the best:D The Kinks many many times, ......Ray Davies never fails to entertain:D

1. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band at Madison Square Garden in 1980. (REO Speedwagon was the opening act, too!) It was the first time that Seger had headlined the Garden and his performance was positively amazing. We later found out that he had the flu and a fever of 103 but refused to cancel because it was his first time at the Garden as a headliner. How he did it when he was that ill, I will never know but it was a great night.

2. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers at the Meadowlands Arena
with Nick Lowe as the opening act. Probably 1982. Excellent.

3. One of my personal favorite acts: Dave Edmunds at the Capital Theatre in Passaic, NJ. Opening acts were Marshall Crenshaw and NRBQ. This was the best overall concert I ever saw from start to finish. Usually you can't wait for the openers to get off the stage, not this night. And at that time, I didn't even have a clue as to who NRBQ were. I was there for Crenshaw and Edmunds. They blew me away.

CHER! I saw her farewell tour 3 times...it was great. Also Elton John and Billy Joel in concert together. 4 straight hours of terriffic music and entertainment!
