Hi!

Wondering what is the best resort for DS 17 yrs old. We are going down to celebrate my 50th B'dy :scared: and we always stay at BC. I just received a pin code offer that I just cannot pass up for a stay at a moderate; but which one? He is very active and loves to play games poolside. Can you suggest a moderate that would keep him occupied so I can actually read a book from cover to cover? I will be renting a car so I do not have to rely on Disney busses. Can several of you please give me your opinions?

Thank you!

I am also curious about this, we will be traveling in December with 2 ten year olds, a thirteen year old and a fifteen year old. Oh, yeah....they are all boys! Is there a moderate with a good mix of activities that are independent for the teens and some that are just fun for the younger two?

I hope I'm not hijacking, suiteone! :flower3:

I say Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach. :) I'm 21 if that helps and thats where I'd choose

I would think he might like the boat ride to DTD from POR/POFQ .

I think CBR would get my vote. If you are looking to relax "poolside" like your posts states, everything at CBR is convenient to the main pool and Port Royale. You have the food court, the video games, the store, the pool, the beach, the lake and rentals - all at your fingertips from this central location. Other resorts are more spread out when it comes to the store, the restaurant/food court, the pool, etc. CSR for one has a pool that is in a central location - not near the main building/food, for example.

Have you checked to see if your pin code could be applied to BC? Often the codes advertise one class of resorts, but are good for discounts on the other levels too. Of course there may be no availablility of the code at BC, but you never know until you ask.

CSR!! The main pool area is great with a sand volleyball court, and arcade and a 123 ft water slide. Check out my website below for pics and info.

I was at CBR this spring with my DS16, his DF16 (almost 17), and my DS13 - they loved CBR. The quiet pools, the main pool, the boat rentals on the resort's own 45-acre lake, the walkway around the lake and through the island, the game arcade, the food court, the bike rentals -- it was great and they had a blast! And don't forget the white-sand beaches with hammocks and beach chairs!

We were also there a couple years earlier, when they were DS14, DF13 and DS11 -- same deal -- they all loved it!

We can't wait to go back!

I would recommend CSR!! It has a fitness center that your DS can use for free if he is into working out.

My daughters, ages 20 and 17, love CBR. They always find something to do, and they love the main pool. There is the arcade, bike rental, and boat rental for the lake. There is also an outside pool table by the main pool.

Thank you everyone for your posts; I am so darn confused trying to decide on which one -CSR or CBR. My pin code only allows for budget or mod resort; I tried!:sad1: But, I can't allow a ridiculously low rate to get thrown away because I can't stay at BC. $105 per night (tax inc) for a mod is ridiculously low, right? I am just assuming that.
Does CSR or SBR have water basketball or water volleyball (hoop in the pool)?

Thank you for taking the time to help! They are holding my ressies for today and I must make a decision.

Have a blessed day!

My 15 yo (today!!!) ds has really enjoyed all of the WDW moderates. Of the 3, POFQ/POR (I'm lumping these 2 together and will explain why in a moment) and CSR would probably be his favorite.

Ds loves, loves, loves DQ. Thus, the boat directly to DTD is HUGE bonus for him when staying at POFQ/POR. Buses to/from DTD from the other mods can take quite a while. Not fun late at night when you're tired and the buses are packed. Also, POFQ/POR is pretty close to everything (except AK). Thus, travel time is again short.

That being said, CSR was a big hit with everyone in my family, including teenaged ds. The pool (with the longest slide of all WDW resorts) is fantastic. Lazy ds also enjoyed having the golf cart transportation to carry him from our building to the pool, main building, etc. All of us enjoyed the fantastic room service and food offerings.

Have fun!

I have not given POR a thought because I thought it seemed to attract younger families and that they had a smaller pool. Is the pool smaller at POR and do they have plenty of chairs during mid day? Do they have the mouse boats for rent at CSR do you know?

Thanks again!:thumbsup2

Yes, CSR has a marina that rents watercraft including watermice.

The many more hours I spend reading as much as I can, it appears that CSR is for us. Your web link is wonderful and has helped in making a decision. Do you know what the surry rentals are and the water mice rentals are? One more question; do you agree that $115 per night for a king room is a good one? (The std. rooms were sold out for my pin code). Any suggestions on what bldg/room to ask for that would be near the large pool and should we take the bus rather than drive our car to the parks - which would be more convenient? Thank you so much for all the time you spend helping others!:cheer2:

Have a great trip!!

Here are some good building choices. King rooms are located in all villages.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building.

That is a great rate! A king room is normally $160.00 per night prior to taxes in the value season. A standard room for the same time period is $145.00.

My suggestion would be CSR over CBR, due to the fact of the main pool at CBR. Also having the arcade right by the pool is something you teenager would like.

I have 2 boys, 11 and 13. They love staying at CBR. The game room is excellent, and when they were there, it gave us a little time to shop in the gift shop and catch a bite. All of it is within view of the game room. They also liked the pools at the resort areas...Jamaica is their favorite.
