Best margarita at WDW?

The margarita booth in Epcot is definitely not the best place. They were very expensive and I doubt they really had tequila in them; I couldn't taste any alcohol at all.

I have to completely agree with this! I swear there was NO alcohol in them.

Hands down...the best and the strongest can be found in DTD at the Margarita Shack.

I haven't found my favorite yet...and I do love the tequila, but I agree about the Mexico margarita stand. When I first started drinking them (~ 2 yrs ago) one knocked me on my butt. However the last couple of times I haven't so much as gotten a slight buzz :confused3 And I don't drink that often either, only on vacation really.

Really? We got one there last week, and it was really strong! Maybe we just got lucky! :thumbsup2

The thing about frozen drinks is you are not supposed to taste too much alcohol but I am sure there is at least a shot in each drink of tequila and some orange flavored liquer to boot as all frozen drink are measured out before being added to the machines (ie 3 gallons mix, 2 bottles of tequila, one bottel orange..a.dd to machine turn on and freeze). If it is not strong enough you can always add a floater.

Also compared to NY EPCOT's margaritas are cheap:rotfl: but that's the price you pay for being a captive audience;)

Dawa bar. It's to the left as you face Tusker House. That's my favorite place for Margaritas.

Is this near where the guys do their acrobatic display on a regular basis? If so, will definitely check this out next month. Woohoo, three weeks and counting! Like a previous poster said, can almost smell the lime already!

loving this thread. i was just thinking about posting this very question. read on a previous dining review that cantina de angel had "medicine" tasting margaritas- YUCK!!

frozen margaritas=vacation ; this is important stuff to know!!! thanks!

Glad we agree. This IS important stuff to know. :thumbsup2

DH and I got a very good margarita in in Morocco. It was at the little stand there, not at the CS (Tangierine Cafe). They had a few different drinks and a few desserts (baklava, etc.). I don't remember the eact name of it but it was very, very good!

The best Margarita I had was at Epcot in Italy. It's called "an Italian Margarita", it's made with Grappa and Lemoncello Liquor. They sell them in a little drink hut by Italy! In June it will be one of my 1st stops!

When I was there in January I had the best margarita ever at Kona in the Poly. Frozen strawberry with sugar on the rim. It was absolutely delicious. Just enough alcohol to taste and make you a little bit happier but not enough to knock you off your feet. I will positively go back there the next time we're in The World.

They have tequila in them, have a couple and you will feel it. For the price I thought they were a good deal.

Hate to be a pedant, but with Grappa and Limoncello, it ain't a margarita! Sounds delicious though :-)

It's just as you come up on Italy, if you're coming from the right, a little seperated from it. If I recal there are bathrooms behind it. By all appearances you would think they just sold softdrinks. It's a wooden little hut type concession stand. I haven't had another type of margarita at Epcot since I tried it, I love them!

The Patron margarita at Dawa Bar or Crew's Cup is really good. Mexico at WS (both in restaurant (the worse!) and at the booth outside) - really weak.

I'm sure some will see this as a petty question, but please humor me. Margaritas are a rare treat for me- basically only while on vacation. So, where serves the best one, in your opinion?

I'm with you. I don't normally have a cocktail to busy with work & kids. So I indulge at WDW. And Margaritas are a fav.

At one time Mexico did have the best margaritas BUT I have to agree that in the last year or 2 I wonder if they put any tequilla in them??:confused3 The last time I had one there I had a headache after drinking it, what a disappointment that was and I wasn't dehydrated or anything...

IMHO, the best ones are at the Margarita shack in DTD, they know how to make a margarita...;) that tastes great and sticks with you..:thumbsup2.

Anyone know what ones they have???

It's so true, work and kids means no drinking alcohol. I'm so looking forward to trying some of the places suggested in this thread. Why, oh why, do these last few weeks before vacation seem to drag by so slowly?!
