Thought we might hit a mall one night when we have an early evening and likely our Discovery Cove day as everyone will be watered out and not want to hit the pool that day. We don't have a car so will have to take a cab there and back..not a big deal but don't want something a long way a way...so any suggestions for what the best mall in the area is? I told DH we wont be able to shop for fall cloths for the kids though as I'm betting there is a tad bit of differnece between the winters in Florida and western Canada! Still they might find a few things that work!:thumbsup2

This would be a better fit on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board.

Definitely Mall at Millenia! It is, along with the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, one of my favorite places to shop. The mall itself is massive and offers a vast assortment of stores.

There's also the two Orlando Premium outlet locations, but as far as a traditional mall it's Millenia,it's also not too far from Universal.

Is Millenia better then the Florida Mall (think that's the name)? I know DH went there a number of years ago when he was down for a conference and came home with the biggest bag of M&M's for our girls.
Last time we stayed right beside an Outlet Mall that I didn't think the prices where all that great as the Old Navy had the same stuff we had in our store in Canada but was only a few dollar less.
We aren't instersted in an upscale place just one that has good store and hopefully ones we don't have here...not hard being we live in a smallish city in western Canada. :cool1:

Millenia is pretty upscale.

I prefer the Premium Outlets on International Drive. Lots to choose from -- I love the North Face store.

I love the Millennia Mall and I hate shopping and malls, so that says something. I used to love to shop (and window shop) there when we lived nearby.

Florida mall is a really big 70's-80's mall,it has a lot of stores but is not as nice and flashy as Millenia.Florida mall probably has more stores but they both also have a lot of stores and restaurants in the surrounding areas of both malls with Millenia probably having more as well as a huge IKEA right next door. There's nothing wrong with Florida mall, especially if your intent is to shop,Millenia just outshines it being a nicer newer mall. Both Premium outlet locations and the Lake Buena vista factory stores are like my local Sawgrass Mills outlet, one day you go and find great deals and other days you can't find much.

I would love the Ikea since we don't have one here, but I was wanting more to see if I could pick up a few back to school cloths for the girls (9, 12 and 16) so a mall that would have stores good for them and might have sales at that time of year. Of course we are from a much colder climate so I don't know what kind of stuff would be stocked for back to school. There must be times when they ware pants and long sleeved shirts down there. DH always likes sprots stores as he's a runner so if he can pick up some running shirts and shorts for a good pirce that's always good.
