grannyminnie and dancemomnj, isn't Samoa a wonderful location? We haven't stayed at the Polynesian since CC reopened but the side door used to be about 30 seconds away from the South exit of Samoa...is it still there?
Poly Pal, I agree it is splitting hairs and actually meant to put that in my post. But I am well aware of the walk through the longhouse if you come into the GCH at the Western end of Raratonga. It is still a shorter walk than it is from Fiji. Just check a map.
And yes, if you book a suite you will have the closest rooms of all to GCH. However Raratonga is closer to the bus stop.
grumpyharn, the bus stop is at the Eastern end of Raratonga. Tokelau is also very convenient to the bus stop, has larger rooms and pretty much splits the difference for TTC or GCH transportation. As Poly Pal said, Tahiti and Rapa Nui are the closest of all to the TTC.
I think all longhouses at the Polynesian have advantages...so much so that in 30 stays we've never requested a particular longhouse (although sometimes we've known which one we'll be in anyway).[/QU
Yes, there were three doors from outside to get into Captain Cooks. You did not need to enter CGH to enter. There was one on the side and then two more doors from the patio area outside near the pool. It's very close to Samoa.
