Best location to request at CBR

We are staying at CBR for 3 days before leaving on a 7 day western disney cruise. It is hard to believe but, we are not going to any parks while we are there but, just want to relax and enjoy the disney magic for a few days. My question is what location would be the best? We have 4 kids and 3 adults in our group. So they will want to swim and explore.

We love everything about CBR. Probably the best areas to be located in would be Martinique and Trinidad N. You would be closest to the pool and main area. Older kids could come and go and there's plenty of adult activities nearby. We've stayed at Aruba several times and it's just a short walk across the way from the food court/main area.

I agree with Sullins. I stayed in Martinique building 23 in early Dec. 2003. I think Buildings 24, 25 and 26 are closer to the main dining area and pool though. I've always wanted to go to WDW just to stay at a resort. I'm sure it'll be so nice just doing that!

I think CBR is the best - we have stayed there a few times and love all areas but this past May, we specifically requested Jamaica by suggestion of some forum members. We were so impressed that we made reservations for this March in the same area Jamaica building #44/same room. I know you said you weren't going to the parks but you may feel this sudden urge to go once you get there - you never know. If that were the case. the bus stop for this area is most usually (I would say about 85% of the time) the first stop for pick-up and the first stop for drop-off which we were thrilled with. We were about a five minute walk away from the food court and one building down from a beautiful (and quiet) pool which was across from some hammocks and a swingset area. We do not have kids (yet) but we loved this location because it was quiet but yet not so far away from the fun and noise. Either way, I think whatever area you pick, you will be pleased and perhaps find one thing or another that you love - have fun!!!

What are the best locations that don't have the price premium? Our preference is convenience over seclusion.

Hi all,
We are going to CBR in March. I have requested a spot in Jamaica with help from the Unofficial Guide. I have also paid for a "water view" since the Guide says the standard rooms "should be avoided: all look out onto a parking lot, road, or tiny, claustrophobic garden."

Is your favorite Jamaica 44 a room number or a building number? It sounds really good. The Guide's favorite rooms are 4245 to 4252 in Jamiaca. Is there a map with details like room numbers on it somewhere?

We stayed in Aruba and were really happy there. We had a standard view and yes, we did overlook a courtyard, but I wouldn't call it claustrophobic at all - it was really pretty with some seating arranged.
We prefer a quieter room - don't like people walking past the room all the time! I noticed a couple of rooms that we passed all the time that people were looking in the windows - they were on route to the pools.

A thumbs up for Aruba - we loved the short walk over the tropical island to the main pool and the food area and shops etc - very relaxing!

The building we requested was Jamaica, Building #44, Room 4456; I kept the room information from our trip this past May (for very good reason). I think their map only shows the areas and buildings but that may be helpful when deciding exactly where to stay. We got a great rate this past May of $94.00 and just happened to get this room; it was the best stay we have had there and the best room. It is a corner room on the second floor and if you walk out onto the balcony, the waterview is almost straight ahead and directly to your right (looks straight ahead and you will see the wooden bridge that takes you over to the main pool and food court). We stayed for 8 nights and were never awakened by any noise whatsoever; we also loved it because the beach with the hammocks was right in front and a nice, quiet pool was located one building down. This time around we weren't as lucky but we still snagged a $138.00 (per night with tax) AP rate for March. Hope this info helps!!!

If you don't mind paying the preferred rate; your best bet would Martinique(either building 24, 25, or 26). we stayed in Building #26...closest to Old Port Royale, the marina, the main themed pool, parrot cay and had a bus stop less a minutes walk away!!! I've heard that Trinidad North is similiar, but, have never personally stayed there....

Was your room a king bed room? i thought I read somewhere that all corner rooms were king bed?

Sorry it took so long to respond - hadn't checked the threads in a few days. No - our room on the corner had two double beds. When we made reservations last May with the $94 a night rate we didn't specify anything; we did call about two weeks in advance (after reading this on these forums) to request Jamaica. Upon check-in, we politely asked if they had any corner rooms and were especially surprised when we got that room. We actually just changed our ressies this March to PORS just to try something new although we may eventually switch back. Hope this helps!

My family loves the CBR!! We stay atleast once a year. I have one word for you JAMAICA!!! This is the best area on property. It is perfectly secluded, yet not too far from the food court. The quiet pool is right beside the building, yet the big pool is only a hop and skip away!!! Hope this helps.
