Hey everyone...DF and I were hoping to get some lobster on our next trip...where do you think has the best lobster in WDW? Of course I know FCH's has it but it is better somewhere else? Thanks! :goodvibes

I love Narcoossee's! They have a Surf N Turf dinner and also a Whole Lobster dinner.

Cap'n Jack's at DTD has a lobster tail dish, and Todd English's Blue Zoo at the Dolphin also has a chilled Maine lobster tail. Shula's steakhouse, also at the Dolphin, has 2 lobster dishes. Haven't tried any of those, so I can't give you any further info.......

Quite frankly, I would not order lobster at Disney World, unless I had to. If I did I would go with the "Maine Lobster Tail" at Blue Zoo. Todd English is a Boston restauranteer that knows how to cook lobster and fresh sea food. Most lobster in Florida is rock lobster, the no claw variety that grows in warmer water. The best lobster is the Maine Lobster that grows in colder climates. The Maine Lobster is the traditional lobster that everyone thinks about. It's bigger, sweeter and much more tender. Everything else is a fraud. Be careful when you order lobster tail (probably a rock lobster), Langostino (a shell fish, not a lobster) and anything else that does not say "Maine Lobster". The North Atlantic Lobster with 2 claws is now called the Maine Lobster, so it may come from any of the coastal waters off of the north atlantic coast of the USA, but it is the only one that deserves to be called a lobster. Just the opinion of someone from the northeast who grew up eating Maine Lobster.

You brought up an interesting point. You said that Langostino is NOT a lobster. Well, I was wondering how Long John Silvers could call it lobster if it is not, so I searched it, and found out that langostino is more like a prawn or a "mudbug", but the courts have allowed it to be called lobster. Funny, ain't it? :confused3

I can't tell you where to find the best one, but I can tell you we were extremely disappointed with Captain Jacks. The lobster was terrible and the multiple cockroach sitings set us over the edge. YICK!

I hope you mentioned this to someone, or called when you got home. :confused3

Thanks for the tips!! I worked in a seafood store for 3 years and love the Maine lobsters...my uncle is also from Maine and he always makes it for me when I visit. I checked out a few menus and now I have some choices. I never thought to check Blue Zoo. :thumbsup2

I'm a fan of Blue Zoo's Two-pound Maine "Cantonese" Lobster...as someone who grew up in Boston I'll have to agree with the warnings on florida lobsters its just not the same....but those Australians do know how to grow a good one (second favorite on property is Shula's Australian lobster tail)

I agree with the previous poster that only Maine lobster is worth the bother and the price. We've had Maine lobster -- sometimes very good and sometimes only fair -- at Narcoosee's. It is also incredibly overpriced at Narcoosee's -- $54. We live in NYC and can get a bigger, better Maine lobster here for $20 less.

We've also had the Maine lobster at Shula's and it was delicious. We haven't tried it anywhere else. There aren't that many places that serve Maine lobster in the shell at WDW -- perhaps Fultons and Blue Zoo?

I steer clear of "lobster tail" whatever that is!
