Best "In-Character" Stories

There are so many to choose from! Some that stand out are Tweedle-dee just hugging my youngest and patting her back. She was 18 months old and scared of many of the characters, but ran to him. It was so sweet.
Belle reassuring my now almost 3 yo that the Beast was actually very nice, but it still did not get her close to him.
This past year, my 14 yo was dressed as the Queen of Hearts for the Halloween party. We had great interactions with the Queen herself. It made all the hours spent sewing that slippery costume satin worth it :)

My partner Lisa and I were walking past the gift shops at the front of World showcase when we spotted Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. We happened to be wearing matching t-shirts from the Disney Store in NY. The Tweedles noticed and both came running over and grabbed us and motioned to the handler to take a picture. We actually took several in all sorts of different and really silly poses. Still some of the best character interaction I have ever had on all my Disney trips.

Mine was on our Fantasy cruise last year. One night after dinner we were walking through the atrium and saw Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Peter was down at the foot of the stairs and Captain hook was on the opposite upstairs greeting area. Peter had a CROWD of kids hanging around him and they were taunting Hook. Putting thumbs in their ears and wiggling their fingers; wiggling their bottoms at Hook; sticking their tongues out... It was quite amusing to watch Hook getting all upset, shaking his fist at them and then having to turn and get his picture taken with his next guest. :lmao: At some point, Peter led the kids - single file - in a parade up the stairs and halfway towards Hook where they taunted him some more. And then they ran screaming back down the steps when Hook acted like he was coming after them. :hyper:

It was just so much fun to watch all of these kids having such a BLAST with Peter and Hook! We stayed to watch for a good 15 minutes or so. I believe I'll never forget that. :lovestruc

the most memorable, however, is um.. Perhaps a bit, well, let's just call it suggestive in nature..

My best friend from college and i were having breakfast at 1900 park fare, or rather waiting to be seated. While we waited, we noticed that outside the holding cell, um, waiting area, there was a topiary of mary poppins. Being girls in our mid 20's we started joking about mary poppins' bush. We were quiet and amusing ourselves to pass the time. Then mary poppins herself came out to meet everyone. We laughed a little harder. As she got around to us she inquired as to what was so funny, asking if we were being good girls, and well, it must have been that slightly devilish sparkle in her eye, we told her that we were talking about her bush. And without missing a beat she said, "oh yes, my bush, it needs a lot of maintenance, must be trimmed all the time!!" :eek: She knew exactly everything we were discussing, played along, and even offered to go outside (big no-no apparently) and pose, all three of us, in front of her bush. The bff and i still can't talk or reference mp without laughing hysterically. :rotfl:

Bummer.. I'd post a pic, but i'm still too new! :(

This made me literally LOL! Great story!

I have so many, its going to be hard to choose.....

When I was 7, I think, I met Esmeralda and Phoebus in the France Pavilion. After taking your standard pictures, it just happened that a band came out in the pavilion and started playing some really lively music. Well, the next thing I know, Esmeralda grabs my hand and leads me away to dance with her. I was younger and had no concept of how rare/cool that was and was actually protesting saying I didn't know how to dance. But Esmeralda was very encouraging and I had a great time. It didn't hurt that she was one of my favorite characters at the time, either.

More recently, during SSW two years ago, I ran into one of the Tusken Raiders and got a picture with him. I thanked him and proceeded to lift my arms over my head raider style (if you've seen A New Hope you know what I'm talking about). He did the Tusken Raider call for me after that. I'm a huge Star Wars nerd so I pretty much geeked out.

DH and I were celebrating our 6th anniversary at WDW last July, we wore our anniversary pins everyday and had great interactions with CM's but the best was during our dinner at Be Our Guest. Midway through dinner when Beast begins to entertain guests in the library, we decided to go meet him. When it's our turn his handler says to him, "Master, it's their anniversary" in a conspiratorial tone. He gestures to her and she says, "Master wants to know if he may have this dance" Beast bowed to me and extended his paw and I actually waltzed with him, he twirled me and handed me off to DH and we waltzed in front of everyone. I was SO embarrassed, but it was so fun and a great experience. :goodvibes

Love it.:)

My 5yr old DD was just settling in with us (we had been her foster home for 6 months, just got all paperwork finalized to adopt. the vacation was supposed to be our first as a real family, but the MA court system was backed up)

At that time, she was super shy and afraid of EVERYTHING.

She has seen a few princesses, but was intimidated to approach. Not sure if it was the crowds, or the lines, or what.

We came around a corner (to the right of the castle, there was a little bridge) and came across Snow White. She was kneeling down, looking at the ducks, smiling. She didn't approach, but let my DD come to her. We were the only people there.

It was perhaps the first time, I saw my princess open up

Thanks.. that was 4+ years ago. In one month, we're going back. She no longer believes in princesses, but i still hope to have fun

I had waited 2.5 hours to M&G Anna and Elsa when I got there photopass was broken so I ended up 15 minutes talking with them while my phone booted up for picture taking. Anna kept commenting on my hair (I have bleached white streaks in my hair kinda like my avatar) and asking me if I'd been hit by her sister's magic as well. The conversation then turned to NJ and the snowstorm and Elsa apologizing for getting angry at something that occurred when she visited "that foriegn land." It was a unique 15 minute conversation we all had.

As a fellow Star Wars geek, that is AWESOME

DS was 6 at the time and we went to Turtle Talk with Crush. Crush spoke with my son for a bit:
C: where are you from?
DS: Vermont
C: dude...never heard of it
DS::rotfl2:
C: how did you get here?
DS: we flew
C::eek:
C: narley dude...show me your wings!!!
DS::rotfl2:

It was really cute to watch.

I have many!!! But my top 3 are:

1) When my oldest was 4 we had lunch at Garden Grill. We waited forever for our food to be served. Chip and Dale came to our table THREE TIMES before the food got served. On the third time, they pointed to our table and shrugged there shoulders to ask where our food is. We told them we have been waiting a while. They found the nearest waitress, dragged her over, and "scolded" her for her "bad service".(It really wasn't that long of a wait for food. I expected to wait at least 20 minutes, we waited 30 to be served).

2) When my middle son was two, We saw Mickey at the judges tent(miss that). We lucked out and got both Mickey and Minnie! We interacted with them for nearly ten minutes. My son played patty cake and even gave her a kiss! Minnie was fawning over my son so much, that when we said we had to move on for others, she held onto him and shooed us away and then Mickey joined in on it!

3) We went in May of 2012 and my middle son HAD to have his Sorcerer's Apprentice book signed by Sorcerer Mickey. We met him at HS, and Mickey made a big fuss out of signing the book, showing it off to everyone and the handlers we saying that it's their favorite book and my son told them he has it memorized word for word!

BONUS:

4) We went again in November 2012 and my youngest son got to meet Donald in Mexico. We got awesome photos of Donald playing peek a boo with him(he was 1 at the time)

We have had others, but those are my absolute favorites!!

While we were at the world my DD was celebrating her 14th Birthday, and I bought her the Birthday Cake Hat (the one with the light up candles).
She was having her picture taken with Pooh, when Tigger came over and pinched the hat off her head, and tried to eat it, the cast members joined in and were saying "Tigger it's not a real cake,you can't eat it". Much to the amusement of my DD.

My boyfriend and I were at Ariel's Grotto in DCA in 2006. Cinderella came by our table and asked us if we had left our princesses at home. Now my boyfriend can be quite flamboyant, especially when he's had an adult beverage or three, and he said to Cindy, "Honey, why do we need princesses when ya got the Queen right here?" The look on Cinderella's face was priceless.:rotfl: I wanted to die...:eek:

My son had the absolute BEST time with Alice and the Mad Hatter at MNSSHP last year! All I can say was that these 2 were perfect at portraying their characters! My son was dressed as superman and he had a lengthy conversation with them both about how to do a push-up:) The line was kinda lengthy to meet them but it was definitely worth it. Just to get a picture of him with such a genuinely happy smile was worth it:)

I almost spit soda on my computer. Hilarious:lmao:
