Best "In-Character" Stories

OH! thought of another, this is bringing back so many good memories :goodvibes

okay, I'm not sure how long ago this was but I was pretty young.
Parents and I went to Garden Grill and all the characters came around but didn't stay any longer than to get a quick picture. However, Dale came over and sat down next to me, took my place mat and some crayons and drew me a picture of him and I :wizard: Apparently "dale" was a veryyy good artist according to the hostess ;) I still have the drawing somewhere, and it really meant a lot to me because I've always loved to draw :goodvibes

We had a great Peter Pan interaction in October. While signing my DD's autograph book he asked where we were from. When we said Canada Peter replied "oh, do you live in a maple tree? That must get pretty sticky!" Then as a little girl with a missing tooth walked up he exclaimed "what happened to your tooth?! Did a pirate knock it out?!"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
too cute

Oh I LOVE these stories and I have some to share!!
- We were at LTT and DS had hair graphics on his head. Chip saw them and proceeded to get all the characters at LTT to surround DS and just admire his hair cut.

- We dressed up as a family of dalmations for MHSSHP. Our shirts had a picture of Cruella DeVille in a no-smoking type of circle. CMs saw us and asked us to be in the family parade. One of the dancers comes up to us and sees our shirts and tells us that she will tell Cruella to look for us during the parade. We are watching the parade and our DS stroller is covered in lights and Cruella spots us. She comes to us and yells what is that on your shirts!!!! Cruella turned out to be the dancer we had seen earlier.

- Still wearing our costumes we are entering HM. There is a ghost that sits in front of HM during the party. She sees us and gasps, "Oh my...poor man his wife doesn't know how to do laundry.":lmao:

- Entering HS a CM also noticed DS hairstyle and asked him if he wanted a surprise. He leads us to the guest center and we walk back to a room. He tells DS to knock on the door. When DS knocks on the door, it cracks open and I see the nose! I start freaking out and Mickey opens the door. We had a wonderful 10 minutes with him and I just kept hugging the CM and telling him thank-you.

We were at MK as it opened that day DS saw GOOFY had to have a photo with him.I fumbled with the camera GOOFY came over motioned me to stand by DS watching GOOFY trying to take a picture awesome:rotfl2::goofy:

During a parade at Disneyland (I forget which one..the 3 o'clock one, lol) Lady Tremaine and the 2 step sisters walked by my partner Bill and I (we're both guys, BTW). One of the step sisters stopped and asked Bill if he would like a date. Lady Tremaine shoo'ed her away and said,

"We're looking for princes, not queens!" :lmao:

How'd she know!

Love this! If I would have been drinking, it would be on my monitor! I was going to contribute, but that one is my favorite interaction story!

One of the things I love most is being able to interact with characters!!!

One time we were at a Princess breakfast and asked Sleeping Beauty about her accommodations. I mean, her castle was all the way over in California, how on earth could she have made it to Florida in time for breakfast, and she said that Cinderella let all the princesses spend the night, it was like a big slumber party!

Another great time was with Mickey, right out front at MK, I was there by myself, on my last day... from WDW I was leaving Florida and moving to TN.. Like, the truck was full of my belongings, I had spent 3 days with my BFF in the park, and my parents were coming later in the week with the furniture. So, while meet N greetin' with Mickey, I told him that this was going to be the last time I was gonna get to see him for a long time b/c I was moving from 40 minutes away to HOURS away!! And I was sad and going to miss him.. so Mickey, ever the gentlemanly mouse, listened nicely and then posed for a LOT of pictures and then we danced and he spun me and it was awesome!!!

The most memorable, however, is um.. perhaps a bit, well, let's just call it suggestive in nature..

My best friend from college and I were having breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, or rather waiting to be seated. While we waited, we noticed that outside the holding cell, um, waiting area, there was a topiary of Mary Poppins. Being girls in our mid 20's we started joking about Mary Poppins' bush. We were quiet and amusing ourselves to pass the time. Then Mary Poppins herself came out to meet everyone. We laughed a little harder. As she got around to us she inquired as to what was so funny, asking if we were being good girls, and well, it must have been that slightly devilish sparkle in her eye, we told her that we were talking about her bush. And without missing a beat she said, "oh yes, my bush, it needs a lot of maintenance, must be trimmed all the time!!" She knew exactly everything we were discussing, played along, and even offered to go outside (Big no-no apparently) and pose, all three of us, in front of her bush. The BFF and I still can't talk or reference MP without laughing hysterically. :rotfl:

bummer.. I'd post a pic, but I'm still too new! :(

One of my favorite memories was when we took our DD who was 2yrs at the time to WDW. She really wanted to meet Mickey Mouse and so we waited in a long line to see him. She fell asleep in the stroller while waiting. When we finally saw Mickey he came right over to our DD's face, bent down and tickled her with his nose until she woke up. The look on her face was priceless! She was so excited to be woken up by Mickey.

Unfortunately, my camera was acting up and I didn't get a picture. The Disney photographers took a couple. I meant to order one from home but by the time I remembered our photo pass expired so I sadly threw it out. Oh how I wish I had remembered to order a picture!

My oldest sons first trip we saw Pooh and friends and while getting his picture with Eeyore who was very jolly and bouncing having fun with us, he asked him how his day was, and it was like he slapped Eeyore in the head....Eeyore got all sad. It was perfect timing on Eeyores part and we have a great picture of it too. We laughed on that one for days!

Another one: We were eating at the Garden Grill and Mickey and the CM were at our table, my DD dropped her fork and without missing a beat she says "OH NO, IVE DROPPED MY DINGLEHOPPER". The cast memeber literally dropped to the floor in tears of laughter and Mickey was doubled over. We got a great laugh out of that one.

At AK in 2008 my two girlfriends and I were posing with Pluto & Goofy. Since no one was even close, we started to take lots of different pictures. Finally, I asked for just one by myself with them. I was in the middle and they'd linked their arms with mine on either side. By now, a crowd had started to grow to meet them, so tons of people saw when they whisked me away! After my DBF snapped the picture, they just turned around and started skipping through AK with me! It was so much fun. I was 19 but felt 5 again! When they finally let me go, they had a friendly tug-o-war over who got to "keep" me, then Goofy "proposed"! As I walked away they pretended to cry and reach out for me. It was like a commercial! Luckily all my friends and the DBF got tons of pictures and video of it.

I also have fantastic times with Ariel. Earlier that same trip, we were getting her autograph (my one girlfriend hadn't been there since she was a baby, and it was the other's first time). Well, I went last, and as I sat on the rock I tried my green glitter gel pen in her likeness. It slipped and the little Ariel toy on top fell right on its head! I was absolutely mortified, and Ariel playfully gasped "Oh no! It seems I've fallen on my head!" :scared1: I was blushing so bad, which is rare, and was so embarrassed in front of all the little kids and my girlfriends who were now pointing at me laughing. Ariel was awesome though and gave me a hug and was just super cool about it all.

Rafiki is pretty fun too! That same trip (lucky trip, eh?!), we were goofing off with him and my friend asked if we could take a picture with our tushies out, since we all know his is blue. I took my own with him after, and let me tell you, my navy blue shorts looked pretty good! :rotfl:

We still crack up whenever we talk about Eyeore and his dissing of me(I even had my Eyeore tattoo on, he was my fav that trip) ... we were at a character breakfast and he was coming towards our table and I got up and extended my arms to hug him, and called out "Eyeore!!" and he passed me right by...:sad1: my daughters laughed so hard and we have the pics and videos...he obviously didn't see me and it probably wasn't our turn for him but when Tigger came around, I said Eyeore hates me (with the pretend sob) Tigger went and got him and he hugged me.. not the best story but to this day my daughters mock me and tell people about the time I got dissed by Eyeore...It actually became the theme of our trip ...lol

Ariel: talked with DD about Flounder when DD told her she had a Flounder at home

Belle: Belle saw DD's birthday cupcake and told DD that Beast is very messy with with cupcake icing

Mary Poppins: snapped her fingers with DD & they sang "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" together.

Love these stories! Last October we had lunch in Norway - DS6 enjoyed it but was not super excited. Until Ariel came by and kept calling him "Sailor". He ate it up! When she left, she kissed him on the cheek leaving a lipstick mark. He had a goofy grin for hours.

your story reminds me of when 17 of us went to WDW and had lunch with the princesses in the castle. when the beautiful waitresses started calling all the men "my lord" - OMG!! you should have seen the men eating that up! talk about goofy grins for hours!! lol

For me it was during our trip 9/04. My DD's were 3 and 1. My dd1 was sitting in her stroller and we were in AK by FOTLK, We were just standing ther and Minnie comes up to DD! and gets down on her knees and starts to play patty cake with her, then Mickey comes over to play with her too, next thing I know we are having a private meet and greet with Mickey , Minnie, Goofy and Donald. They must have spent at least 10 minutes with my family. And the pictures are priceless. My DD1 has special needs and she ate the characters up as well as they seem to enjoy her giggles too.

Our best story comes from the step sisters at 1900 PF, too. I posted this shortly after our May '09 trip, so I'll copy and paste it here:
Drizella was our favorite. First she posed with the boys:

Then, she asked them if they would dance with her. My youngest, Aidan, obliged:

Then, Aidan hopped back onto his chair and started looking at something under the table. Drizella got down there with him and asked what he was looking at. Then, she called her mother and Lady Tremaine, without missing a beat (and remembering my son's name), called out from across the room, "Aidan, sit properly in your chair!":

We LOVED the step sisters and Lady Tremaine! --Katie

I was with my mother and my two daughters at Pixie Hollow in March. As my daughters were talking with Tinkerbell, my mom blurted out "Oh, you sound just like her!" Tinkerbell gave her a look and said "That's because I AM her. You sound just like you, GROWN-UP!" It was hilarious.

Reading all these posts makes me want to have kids so that I can watch them interact with the characters.

My favorite interaction was in '93 (i was 12) and we got to meet Figment and Dreamfinder. Since Figment has always been my favorite character at Epcot I was wearing (and still have) my figment hat. The bill was his nose, and the top had his yellow horn. After a couple pictures with me and my sister (14) Figment ate my hat off of my head.

That same trip and one before during character meals I don't remember where Pluto tried to eat my head.

And last but not least although I don't remember the year we were eating at King Stefan's Banquet Hall and Cinderella came up to our table. I was young and a little embarrassed by girls at the time, but I still 'liked' them. Apparently my face was red the entire meal after Cindy came by.

Our story came out of nowhere and was completely unexpected.

Rode the boat over from Fort Wilderness to The Contemporary Hotel during the fireworks. It was a Halloween Party night and they were several in costumes.

We disembarked the boat onto the dock. It was not lit well and I noticed a man dressed like Peter Pan in the corner. I told my husband that was a good costume. There was no one else around so by then my boys noticed him. Then I noticed another CM guide with him. Obviously it was not just some guy in a costume.

My boys shyly walked over and he got down and started talking to them. He asked where they were from and then they in turned asked him where he was from. He stated Neverland. It was a very clear night out with many stars. He pointed to a star and told them how to get there. Second star to the right and..... My boys eyes got so big (ages 5 and 3). It was as if they were waiting for the shadow of Captain Hooks ship to fly over the moon. It was without a doubt one of those WOW unplanned "Disney" moments you will never forget!

DD (2) first trip 2002, waiting for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, we had to wait a few extra minutes and no one else was in the waiting area, Alice came out and sat on the floor with my DD, colored and played a game with her for about 10 minutes.

Everytime my mom has come with us Goofy seems to find her (maybe he has a old lady thing haha) in very random places and settings.

tour in DLR we were on the scavender hunt and saw Tom & Huck on the island, when we asked them to sign DD book, Huck grabbed it and put some dirt on it and said" I don't know no letters" and made his mark, DD was 4 at the time and got very upset that they "dirty" boy ruined her princess book, the look on his face was priceless, the tour director didn't know what to say or do, we were all cracking up!

2008 trip to WDW DD lost a tooth at CRT breakfast, she bit into her muffin and we heard this "clink" her tooth landed right onto her plate, got lots of attention from all the princesses and instead of the tooth fairy, "Tinkerbell" visited her that night.

One of mine that's a little different was when I was younger and we'd just left the old Figment ride and met the Dreamfinder with that Figment puppet he had. I don't remember the exact details but he was talking to me and asked where I was from, I said Scotland and he mentioned something about Nessie being Figment's Aunty or something. Great character interaction looking back but my five year old self was adamant that Nessie didn't exist and he couldn't convince me otherwise :rotfl2: the people nearby got a lot of laughs I've been told
