Best HRH Room Location to Avoid Noisy HHR Late-Comers?

Hi, all!

We're starting to pack for our 2 night stay at the HRH from 10/13-10/15.
We are a family of 5 staying in standard room with 2 queens.
We plan on staying at the parks until close, then going to CityWalk or Downtown Disney afterwards, but probably going to bed around 11 PM each night - Our kids are 10, 7, and 5 and are theme park vets used to staying up late.
I know that HHR tends to get some wild crowds at the end of the night.
Perhaps we didn't choose the best hotel in HRH to avoid some of the partiers coming back late in the night, but it had the cheapest rates!
My concern now is where should we request our room location to be to avoid the noise?
I would think we'd want to be as far away from the elevators as possible, right?
We usually stay at the RPR and I'm not really familiar with HRH's design - Is there a "wing" that we should request where we could be far away from the elevators but near a stairwell?
Should we request a particular floor?
My kids sleep pretty well, but DH is a light sleeper and I'd rather not hear people returning to their rooms in a drunken stupor for hours.
Please help!

Thanks ...
Rose :)

Hi, I hope you will love the HRH, we do! As for where to request a room, I think it is just luck. We have stayed in a king suite before and they are directly next to the elevators. We didn't hear a thing. Another time we stayed in a queen and had very noisy neighbors that came home about 1:00 and partied for hours. We did call someone and we could hear them knock and ask the occupants to quiet down and they did not. I would say possibly to request a room at the very end of the hallway to avoid having the bed heads directly next to your neighbors.

By the way, we have stayed at many hotels including the Royal Pacific, Polynesian, Old Key West, Boardwalk Villas, ect. The Hard Rock is no more or less noisy than any other hotel. We will be returning for our 5th or 6th stay on November 9th and can't wait. The walk to the parks from the HRH is insanely short! We have always been treated well by the management and we will continue to return because of this. The exception would be the club level, which I feel is not worth the money. Enjoy!

I think that it can happen anywhere. We just stayed at HRH Tampa and when the bars closed around 2 am the room next door turned into a disco. HRH has some pretty loud cd players too! We stayed once at Wyndham Palace in DTD and at 2 the neighbors went nuts.
The quietest place we've ever stayed is the end of the Villa Wing at PBH.

Degrapevine -

We will be there from 10/11 - 10/14. Maybe we will run into you at the pool.
Have FUN!!! I have never stayed there before, but I have only heard really really good things about HRH and it is so many peoples favorite hotel at Universal. So I don't think noice will be too much of an issue, well I hope not we go to sleep pretty earlier!!

We stayed at HRH in Oct. 2004 and had a great time. We were on the 3rd floor, garden view, center of the hall (don't remember the #). We didn't have any problems with noise, but it is something I worry about. I think it is just bad luck when you end up next to someone that rude and inconsiderate. The walk to the parks from HRH is so short. That is something I will miss this year. I hope you have a great time.
We will be leaving for RPR this Saturday (15th). This will be the second time onsite at Universal and looking forward to seeing RPR . :hourglass : :wave2: :moped: ::cloud9:

Thanks so much everyone for your great replies!

I realize that every hotel/resort has its share of loud/rude guests.
We've had to call the front desk a few times at various hotels.
I guess I was just worried about the "Hard Rock" attitude combined with the HHN festivities getting out of control.
We'll probably request a room away from the elevators just to be safe.
We've stayed at all three Universal hotels many times (I really need to change my sig to reflect our loyalty to Universal, too!) and have had wonderful stays at all.
I was surprised that the HRH was a little cheaper than the RPR this time around.
I agree, it's really nice being that close to the parks at the HRH - Especially with our "sunny" Florida weather that can get some afternoon storms that discontinue the boat service.
The kids will love the pool and I'm really looking forward to seeing my DD5 experience Universal for the first time!
I think we're going to be riding the Flying Unicorn over and over ...

Kristy - Keep an eye out for us by the pool - As you can see by the picture in my sig, we have 3 kids, DS10, DS7, and DD5. No matching outfits this trip, though!

Thanks again for everything - Dis-ers are the best!
Rose :)
