Best hotels for family of 5?

Our first trip to DL next year will be our first trip with three kids -- by then, ages 14, 12, and 2! It seems like a challenge to find comfortable accomodations for families bigger than 4. Does anyone have recommendations for hotels near DL for a family of five? A suite hotel, maybe?

We always like to stay at Homewood Suites, in Garden Grove. We were there in November with our two grown children. My daughter slept in the 2nd queen bed, in the bedroom. My son slept on the sleeper sofa. They have a full size refrigerator, a stovetop, a microwave, utensils, plates, cups, etc. I would say the ages of your kids, 2 could sleep in the 2nd bed in the bedroom.

The family suites at marriot residence inn resort are great , bunk beds and sofa bed , 2 bathrooms and full kitchen and breakfast too. We have stayed there and if I could not do on site I wold stay there again. Very friendly and clean.

It is not fancy but it is clean and it is right across the street.

The Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites We have stayed there twice in a parlor suite. They have family suites too.. which are really jazzed up connecting rooms. Their website shows the floor plans.

We have stayed in smaller rooms at the HOJOS(twice), Best Western Park Inn. What used to be the Park Inn International and the Grand Californian.

FWIW, the nearest good neighbor is the Best Western Park Place Inn. We have six in our family, and have stayed at their mini-suites which have two queen beds and a roll-out queen. The DL GCH is very close (and expensive), and can handle five.

The DLH has rooms with two queen beds and a day bed. They had a fair amount of room and could fit a family of 5.

Definitely the DLH can accomodate 5 and in fact Paradise Pier can too. The GCH's rooms are actually smaller than the other two onsite hotels. But they all three fit five and all three offer some sort of daybed, rollaway, bunk bed or sleeping bag for free for the fifth person.

DW, DS and I are going to stay next week at the Marriott MainGate Residence Inn for the very same reasons that jemilah stayed there......the Suites and the free Hot Breakfast. For a small family of 3, the Hot Breakfast maybe worth it ( cuz it has more variety then McDonalds Breakfast )....but for a huge family with older kids...that probably eat alot.....a Hot ( not a cold Continental ) Breakfast....is worth it. When it comes to the rooms....I like bigger then normal rooms...with bigger kids ( like what you have )...that's always a plus.

We just did 6 people ( 3 adults, 1 teenager, 2 children) in one of the suites at the Best Western Park Place Inn. I will definatly stay there again.

It is nothing fancy but it is clean and the location can not be beat. It also has a good free breakfast that helped alot with budgeting.

Had another talk with DH about our trip tonight and it looks like we're more than likely going to stay offsite -- coming from NY we'd rather save some money on the room and put it toward other expenses (like airfare)... these are great suggestions... for example, I didn't even realize the BW PPI had suites!

They do, as do the Tropicana and Camelot and probably several others. When I am booking a trip to Disneyland or anyplace else, I go to Expedia and plug in my dates. Then I can have everything right there on one website page with an idea of pricing, room types and layouts, amenities etc. Also they always have good photos. Then when I have narrowed that down, I go to tripadvisor and check out reviews of the places I saw on Expedia that looked good. Then I see what kind of pricing I can get from them directly vs. the Expedia pricing. Good luck, you won't have any less fun staying offsite and will save a ton of money!

Another vote for Camelot. The 4th floor pool is a nice place to watch the fireworks (other than the park )
